Trump decides to remove national security adviser (update: White House calling this fake news)
The Washington Post ^ | March 15, 2018 | Ashley Parker, Josh Dawsey, Philip Rucker, Carol Leonnig

President Trump has decided to remove H.R. McMaster as his national security adviser and is actively discussing potential replacements, according to five people with knowledge of the plans, preparing to deliver yet another jolt to the senior ranks of his administration.

Trump is now comfortable with ousting McMaster, with whom he never personally gelled, but is willing to take time executing the move because he wants to ensure both that the three-star Army general is not humiliated and that there is a strong successor lined up, these people said.

The turbulence is part of a broader potential shake-up under consideration by Trump that is likely to include senior officials at the White House, where staffers are gripped by fear and uncertainty as they await the next move from an impulsive president who enjoys stoking conflict.

For all of the evident disorder, Trump feels emboldened, advisers said — buoyed by what he views as triumphant decisions last week to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum and to agree to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The president is enjoying the process of assessing his team and making changes, tightening his inner circle to those he considers survivors and who respect his unconventional style, one senior White House official said.

Just days ago, Trump used Twitter to fire Rex Tillerson, the secretary of state whom he disliked, and moved to install his close ally, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, in the job. On Wednesday, he named conservative TV analyst Larry Kudlow to replace his top economic adviser, Gary Cohn, who quit over trade disagreements.

And on Thursday, Trump signaled that more personnel moves were likely. “There will always be change,” the president told reporters. “And I think you want to see change. I want to also see different ideas.”

Allowing homos and trannys as a social engineering program started under bHo.

Mattis (so far) hasn’t tackled it, as many of us hope.

It may happen. Or not.

Kelly Ann Conway reiterated on the Sean Hannity Show that only the President knows when personnel decisions are made. She ssid it was fake news, but the way she answered looked like somthing is going on.

General Michael Flynn should have this job, as was intended from the beginning.

Poster hits the nail on the head on the first post of the thread.

Trump may or may not dismiss McMaster, and we will all know by Twitter when it happens, because Trump uses Twitter to control the message and the tone.

And COMPOST is up to its usual effusions when it writes "Trump used Twitter to fire Rex Tillerson, the secretary of state whom he disliked."

Trump and Tillerson disagreed on Iraq, and Trump wanted to go a different direction. We know that. But dislike TRex? The man single handedly drained a few feet of swamp water and wrestled down a lot of alligators in the process. You have to like TRex for that.

"The turbulence is part of a broader potential shake-up under consideration by Trump that is likely to include senior officials at the White House, where staffers are gripped by fear and uncertainty as they await the next move from an impulsive president who enjoys stoking conflict."

...or as intelligent adults call it demonstrating strong executive leadership.

I would kill to have HR out of my way and a pool of exceptional talent at the ready.

In some situations, some people are 3 sigma, in others they are -2 sigma.

You want the ability to maintain a 3 sigma team through a rapidly changing landscape in business and in the executive branch.

Trump is so driven to turn this country around, he is leading change every second of every day and adjusting who is on the field to meet the challenge and succeed.

A true sign of greatness.

I liked McMaster and was impressed with how the President’s first official overseas visit was handled and planned. McMaster tagged along and something about it seemed to have his signature: Saudi Arabia, Jerusalem, and the Vatican. Paying homage to the three major world religions...was genius.

I have always wondered who advised Trump to speak at Warsaw, Poland before the big Euro meet up...that was also handled well. The speech (likely written by Steve Miller) was amazing and Poland has such symbolic significance as it suffered through both Nazism and Communism. And it is one of the most boldly Catholic/Christian countries in Europe.

t agree though that McMaster’s personality likely didn’t gel perfectly Trump, but much was learned and appreciated I am sure.

Yes, General Flynn would be a great pick with Robyn Gritz brought back as his Deputy (they know each other and she’s terrific).

I’m in agreement that Michael Flynn should be brought back in. Rip Van Sessions and Roastyswine should go next as well as every last holdover at justice. The prez is in a firing mood and I hope he “fires” away! If horse faced Muler keeps expanding his investigation beyond what he was allowed, fire his arse too!!!

Oh really? We have to start evaluating folks for competence to do jobs and not because we like their razzle-dazzle.

Speaking of possible buffoon firings..I don’t know how Betsy DeVos, at Education, ever got confirmed in the first place. Dumb as a rock and proves it in every interview. Her hearings were a cringe worthy event, let me tell you. A disaster.

Buuuht...... she’s a gazillionaire.

Not much happening in her department. Offhand, I can’t name one thing.
