What's the oddest, most "exotic" dish you've eaten at a restaurant?

In my case, I'd have to say either whale at a restaurant in Iceland, or fried crickets when I was in Zambia.

The whale was delicious. The bugs....not so much.

These are adults, can you believe it? It's more like behavior I would expect out of the minds of adolescents, angry at their parents or something.

“SO what would you gotten had you won the bet?”

San Nakji is delicious, it’s usually served as the appetizer for a meal of cooked squid with chili sauce.

The most disgusting food that I couldn’t bear to eat would have to be “Stinky Tofu” in Taiwan. As you pass the vendor’s stall at the night market you’d swear you were walking by a barnyard.

I love jellyfish if it’s done right. I just had some a few days ago.

I’ve eaten all kinds of odd foods. I’ve spend some time in China and found I like duck tongue and cheek, sliced beef tendon in hot sauce, chicken feet and all kinds of other odd foods. I’ve even eaten the heads of fish, chicken, duck and pigeon. Even durian is okay once you get past the smell. The only thing that stopped me dead in my tracks was a fish air air bladder. It looked sort of like an inflated condom. Other than that, there isn’t much I would not give a try.

Ostrich in Stowe Vermont. Looks and tastes like beef. Just make sure its not well done. Better medium-rare.

Various sea foods that you cooked on a slab of heated lava rock that was brought to the table with a wooden paddle type device. This was at a restaurant in Horta, Portugal (Azores).

I'd say “Prime Rib Au Jus”...but then I've eaten things in Africa and Asia that didn't look familiar.

Camel. I told the waiter that there was something wrong with the steak and he told me that I probably thought it was beef, but it was Camel. He said that is what they do with Camels when they get too old to work.

Fish stomachs in Hong Kong...

Years ago we were at a restaurant in Hong Kong that served snake. The waiter brought a live snake to the table next to us and then killed it and skinned it right there.

I was speechless.

Seems to me that just about everything served in Barrow would be gross.

Deep fried maggots in Mexico. Not bad once I got over the fact they were maggots.

...a fish air air bladder.

Ya know the really good stuff goes for ~$5K/lb, wholesale?

Not sure what some beer and wine manufacturers pay for the common isinglass.
