It was a transatlantic headache for passengers aboard a flight from Germany to the U.S. when a child would not stop screaming for eight hours.
The passengers described it as the flight from hell which featured nonstop screaming and fussing from a 3-year-old on board.
The mother of the child was overheard telling flight attendants that her son has “behavioral problems,” according to passengers.
Passenger Shane Townley captured parts of the August flight on video, which has recently come to light.
"She kind of looked like she was used to it," he told Inside Edition of the boy’s mother’s disposition. "He was climbing the chairs. He would not let up. He was running up and down the aisles and there was nothing she could do."
Before the plane even took off from Germany, the child's mother could be heard asking a flight attendant to turn on the wi-fi so the child could be appeased with an iPad.
She was also heard pleading with the child saying, “Calm down, honey.”
“Everyone was kind of looking at each other like, ‘This is going to be a long flight,'" Townley added.
When the flight finally touched down at Newark Liberty International Airport, passengers were relieved.

lol. It would be hard to be on a plane with a crying baby, admittedly. But one can be sympathetic to a degree. But a screaming/screeching toddler?! Wow! I’d be opening a door and jumping.

I agree, but you can’t spank in public anymore as someone will turn you in for child abuse. I’m a believer in spankings.
And that’s why you never fly unless you have earplugs, particularly on a long flight.

People express hatred at the kids so quickly. The truth is that flights mess with inner ears and many kids freak out during liftoff and landings. It’s just the way it is to a youngster.
But if the crying is beyond that then maybe concern should replace anger.
Is the kid autistic ? Is he truly in pain or something ? These are things you can’t smack out of a kid.

I’m not clicking on that link because my ears will start to bleed! There is now so much bad behavior on planes from kids and adults it makes it an unenviable chore to travel.
Those were my thoughts on a recent (and much shorter) domestic flight where the kid wouldn't stop crying and caterwauling. I can't imagine 8 hrs of that kind of torture.
I honestly, as a general rule, love children, but this is a parenting problem.
I wanted to, out of exasperation, stand up and scream "will you shut that kid up!"

lol. It’s bad. Real bad.
We'd requested bulkhead seating so that there would at least not be anyone directly in front of us. We ended up in the center row of a jumbo jet, which had six or seven seats, if I recall correctly. There was only one other person in the row with us - a very nice lady who was kind enough to move all the way to the end of the row so we could have the rest of the seats. We set ourselves up using five seats and folded up some arm rests. My wife sat at one end, I at the other, and the boy had a nice bed to stretch out on across three adjacent seats.
As it turned out, all our concerns were for naught, because the little guy fell asleep as soon as the plane took off and did not wake up until we landed at Dulles at 8:00 pm local time, at which point our son was raring to go! His mother and I had not slept in more than 36 hours, so that was great fun for us.
And I would not trade that experience for anything in the world.
It also made me much more tolerant of crying children on airplanes. I just remind myself "There but for the Grace of God go I" - and that I have no idea what has occurred in the lives of the child and its parent(s) in the hours and/or days leading up to the flight.

Could have been problems with pressure on the the child’s eardrums.
