Comey’s book, A Higher Loyalty, is supposed to be published in May. If he’s publicly disgraced before then, it’ll be a...*strained* book tour at best.
Even after the Democrats' attempt to pack the military high command and the rank-and-file with corrupt Democrat supporters?
Democrats successfully corrupted, politicized, and weaponized the FBI, IRS, and the Department of Justice. Not the military?
You are not going to see this memo before the start of Business on Tuesday. They don’t usually work Friday, and none of them are going to be in town the Monday after the Superbowl.
Tuesday morning is my guess.
So bring on the iceberg already.
Well, whoever said that has been drinking the kool-aid, consumed in public schools and supplied by leftist liberals, for the last 50 years.
Maybe not? This is the guy who called the Clinton investigation "a matter." Comey is part of the cabal that included his deputies and leadership of the FBI.
Comey is the one who met with Obama and Trump when Trump visited the WH just before his inauguration. Comey stayed behind and briefed Trump on the Steele Dossier. I bet he didn't tell Trump that the dossier was funded by the DNC and the Hillary campaign. And there is no doubt that Comey was trying to set Trump up by taking notes after each of his nine meetings with the President.
Comey is the guy who leaked these classified memoranda of conversation to his professor friend to leak to the press. The objective: Get the appointment of a Special Counsel.
Comey is one of the coup plotters, no maybes about it.
Disclosure of the Nunes memo does not depend on any vote, unless the president has objected to any part of the memo. If the president has objected to any part, then public disclosure will wait until the committee meets.
If the president did not object, perhaps some clerk can post the memo on the HPSCI website on suitable instruction. I think though, five days has not elapsed or expired since the Monday evening vote. The controlling rule for release by the committee reads, in part:
The select committee may disclose publicly ... unless, before the expiration of the five-day period, the President, personally in writing, notifies the select committee that the President objects
In my opinion, the safest thing to do is wait out the expiration of five days. Tues-Weds-Thu-Fri-Sat. That way the DEMs can't assert any complaint based on deviation from procedure.
As of Sunday, assuming absence of objection, those who know what is in the memo will be free to disclose it. Sunday morning chat shows might be interesting for a change.
I thought the committee was going to meet this morning to revote on the “modified” version..with trump releasing it after
Comey is 6’8” and I’ve come to realize, they do stack shit that high.
I think it is time Comey stopped denigrating weasels by associating himself with them. Weasels never did me any harm.
Understandable due to all the mixed up and conflicting press reports.
Trump is not going to release it. It's not his to release. It was his to object to. I read a report that the WH "sent it back to the committee for them to release on their schedule."
Ahh, found it ...
Administration officials tell me #GOPMemo will be sent back to House Intelligence Committee on Friday with redactions from the #WH based on internal consultations w @FBI & other agencies. WH will not "release" memo but send it back to committee for it to release on its timetable
@MajorCBS [Major Garrett at CBS] 11:03 AM - 1 Feb 2018
That corresponds with the House procedure that this memo is tracking. News reports are ALWAYS false when it comes to process and procedure. Statements from people who know better are USUALLY false when it comes to process and procedure. If you want to understand the process or procedure, read the applicable parts of the law, regulation, or whatever sets up the process. In this case, House Rules.
We don't know if the memo was sent back with objections or not. I believe there were no objections communicated following the details in the relevant procedure - there are no redactions, that would slow the release, and dilute the value to public debate. But if there are, then there will be a committee vote to decide how to handle the president's objections. There would have to be a meeting.
I'm not saying it's impossible for the memo to be disclosed to the public today, just that it is, IMO, highly unlikely.
The House is not in session, and I think the DEMs can stifle the appearance of a quorum at a a committee meeting.
I wish the GOP would stop hyping the memo
Yep - went out and responded to Comey’s “weasels” comment with a “Tick Tock”....
Any disclosure to the public before that will green light the DEMs to claim Nunes didn't follow the House rule.
Which begs the question, what happens to Soros and the other wealthy Rat enablers when the SHTF?
Bingo, thanks. Saturday after 5PM it is.
Yes, but the five day period is for the Presidents review. If the President has signaled his agreement to release before that time, then the five day is no longer operable...at least thats how I understand it works. I could, of course, be incorrect.
IMO, Nunes is not going to green-light even a BS argument that he is not following the rules. All that would be "gained" is a one or two day advance on public disclosure.
Meanwhile, the press is hypoing the heck out of this. "The buildup."
Imagine the Sunday morning talk shows being the first time facts in the memo are provided to the press; with the full memo coming a day or two later.
Hes a dirty cop.
