A driver who says she was distracted by her cat crashed into a guardrail, which caused two other wrecks involving a jack-knifed semi near Rhome in Wise County, authorities said.

The woman (and her cat) were headed northbound U.S. Highway 287 near Farm-to-Market road 407 at about midnight when she was distracted by the cat and crashed into the center guardrail, Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Lonny Haschel said.

The woman moved her car to the right shoulder followed by a witness and a state trooper.

An approaching semi truck was trying to avoid the pulled over vehicles and crashed into the damaged guardrail, which was obstructing the far left lane.

Title Company Owner Who Stole Millions Sentenced The semi jack knifed and crashed through the median into the southbound lanes of the highway and was hit by an oncoming SUV.

Both drivers from the head-on collision are transported but neither have life-threatening injuries, Haschel said.

The driver who crashed into the guardrail and her cat were both uninjured, Haschel said.

Knew a guy in the AF that picked up an older woman at a bar. They left, and he brought the Corvette up to speed. A squirrel ran across the road, the woman grabbed the wheel and did a hard left into a tree, killing her. Bad juju, squirrels.

Well not anymore, not since we made it illegal, but surprisingly when I was child people did, we didn't have seat belts until I was eight and we were all over the car and somehow survived. But animals aren't children and should be restrained at least as well as liberals demand children are.

Seems to I recall that police used to pull people over and cite them for unsafe/distracted driving if they had an animal in their lap, and I aint talkin about bein well endowed!

When I see older men with lap dogs while driving, I just plainly get creeped out. They are getting some type of affection that they are not getting from people.

Too many times I witness a vehicle driver with a stupid dog in their lap.....there should be a law against it.

My aunt in law lives in Wise county.

It’s either way too hot there, or way too cold.

Are there any trees between Wise County and the Arctic Circle? If so, there are not enough.

The landscape there has little mesas, which I think is really neat. The only area for hundreds of miles with mesas, it seems like.

Yep, hot or cold the old joke, spring usually is a Tuesday, and I agree the vistas are pretty neat.
