Before you settle down for a long winters nap with adult visions of sugar plums, consider a key fact about the 2018 midterm elections: We already know what theyre going to be about.
Republicans, thanks to their last-minute tax triumph, will run on a pro-growth agenda. If the middle-class tax cuts work as promised, if the economy cooperates by continuing to expand by 3 percent or more and produces jobs, jobs, jobs, the GOP will have a strong message to sell.
It will need one to protect its narrow margins in Congress, especially because the majority party usually loses seats in the first midterms.
Democrats, on the other hand, have no message, no leader and nothing to brag about. That leaves a vacuum, which is being filled with one idea: impeaching President Trump.
Now if an election that pits tax cuts and job growth vs. impeachment strikes you as crazy, dont blame me. And, truth be told, you cant really blame Democratic Party leaders either. They arent so much leading their base as following it.
The resistance wing is taking over the party and congressional bosses Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi can either jump on the Impeach bandwagon or get run over by it.
Theyre capitulating already, as proven by the way Schumer and others reacted to a rumor last week that the president was going to fire special counsel Robert Mueller.
Never mind that Trump denied it, and there wasnt even an anonymous source. It was just a rumor started by one House Democrat who said somebody she knew said something about Trump, so she repeated it to the media.

The democRAT coup attempt is sure to continue. Trump needs to start taking them out using hardball tactics.
2018 will be an interesting year.
It’ll be 2019.
We will win this fight. We won’t be using ballots.
Yeah, and I’ll tell you something else.
The movement to restore our Free Constitutional Republic just beginning.
The difference is we have the Divine Providence of God Almighty on our side and we are going to win this ever-sharpening culture war for the soul of America.
Delusion string with this one, it is.
String = strong
Every month since March 2015 there has been this silly childish declaration by the left.
Until I hear “Impeach” from a Republican, I won’t listen.
An impeachment would be totally without a legal basis and would make any citizen subject to imprisonment for political reasons. And they say we’re the facists.
The ‘RATs will be trying for a mid term majority. Then they will try to impeach even there is no crime they can cite.
We’ll settle this “impeachment” from the roof tops.
The left believe all the bad and none of the good, if any, they ever hear about Trump. They are wired that way more than we are wired in a similar way against Barky and Klintoon. They believe all that fits their emotions and values and nothing else.
We are a polarized nation and a tippy nation that rises and falls on the whim of the swayable swing voter whomever that may be. Whatever appeals to him so it will be in the elections. Most of the time it seems to be the white female? That is what got Moore isn’t it?
They and Her Heinous are the Instigators, not Followers.
They voted no this month in the house. Schedule a vote on impeachment the first Monday of each month for the next 7 years. That will let the dems know we support them.
By November of next year, the “Russian collusion” hoax will have been exposed for what it is and the democrats and their conspirators will be on the defensive trying to keep Clinton’s crimes from reaching to Obama.
Then it will have to be stopped.
By any means necessary.
and in that, we have a DOJ IG report due to be filed with the Congress around January 12-15, 2018, that as of the last counting is 1.2 MILLION pages.
We live in interesting times.
My fortune cookie was right.
