I read elsewhere that he fell about 45 feet to a ledge on the 62 story building. 45 feet doesn’t sound as good as 62 stories. It wasn’t the fall, it was the sudden stop. Dolt.

It’s been said that facing the sheer terror of death causes the person to faint in mid-air (become unconscious) or suffer a fatal heart attack. In most falling cases, the person is already dead before they hit the ground.

That old wives tale may be comforting to some but since it can’t be proved I suspect it’s wrong.
Of course, we could throw a few Democrats off of some tall buildings to test the idea.

I'm serious. In most falling cases, the person dies in mid-air due to the abject trauma of facing death, or they faint and go unconscious.
After dying in your sleep, it is the most peaceful way to go, believe it or not.
