Fifteen years? For vandalism? He smashed lights, cameras, and windows at a mosque, and left some bacon by the front door.
The vandalism is inexcusable and the bacon obnoxious, but fifteen years? The sentence, says AP, “had a hate crime enhancement.” In other words, he is being made an example of. Because he did this at a mosque, he is getting this draconian sentence. If he had broken windows and smashed lights and cameras at a church, his sentence wouldn’t have been nearly as severe.
But all too many American authorities today hold to the false notion that Muslims are victims of wholesale persecution and harassment in the U.S., and so when someone actually does target them, as opposed to the large number of fake anti-Muslim hate crimes, the full weight of judicial authority crashes down upon the offender...

He should have murdered someone...he would have only gotten 7 years.
I guess the message from the “justice” system is that it is better to be an illegal alien and murder a US Citizen rather than a Citizen dissing moozlums.

Had a muslim done this to a church, with hate crime enhancement, I would think a sentence of about 3 or 4 years (with hate crime enhancement) would be about right.
So, 3 or 4 years seems right for this one. Not 15.
I believe a person could probably burn a Christian church to the ground and not get 15 years.
Clearly unconstitutional. Where is the federal judges on the conservative side that intervene? Or is that just a left wing judge thing?
There are plenty of criminals who have gotten less of a sentence for murder, rape, robbery and a host of other violent crimes. Who in the hell gives out a 15 year sentence for putting bacon on the door of a building used to incite hatred against Americans and Jews?
It’s a shame people in FL no longer believe in the punishment fitting the crime.
While Muslim men who rape go free because it’s their culture? Hang every SOB judge who illegitimately favors Muslims in their ruling.

Everyone in the nation is liable for draconian penalties for minor offenses. It’s a very dangerous age we live in. Beneath the veneer of civilization is a vicious barbarism that can destroy any of us at whim and without warning.
I guess Ayn Rand was right. Both “liberals” and “conservatives” have brought us to this.
