I think that is what we are having now. This is more like:
ISA24:20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

"This in turn causes changes to the outer core on which the Earth's tectonic plates rest." Bzzzzzt. Wrong. The Earth's tectonic plates rest on the asthenosphere. The asthenosphere is a highly viscous, mechanically weak and ductilely deforming region of the upper mantle of the Earth. It lies below the lithosphere and it is composed of the crust and the portion of the upper mantle at depths between approximately 50 to 120 miles below the surface.
The outer core's outer boundary lies about 1,800 miles beneath Earth's surface.

While looking for information about pending leap seconds, I found something interesting, and learned something new, which is always a good thing. The following is for Unix/Linux nerds only (Perhaps OSX, but I don't know about that)
If you're using NTPD, you can add a leap seconds file to your configuration.
Download the leap-seconds.list file from http://www.ietf.org/timezones/data/leap-seconds.list. Copy the leap seconds file onto your system running ntpd and add a line to your ntp.conf:
leapfile "/path/to your/leap-file"
You need to restart ntpd to apply your configuration changes.
To keep the file up to date, I'd recommend a cron job that executes on Jun 1, and Dec 1 that will get the file from the above and update the appropriate location.
Yeah, I'm a nerd.

No, I don’t think so. There are high tides on both the side facing and facing away from the moon. The moon’s gravity is causing both. If the sun and the moon are aligned (spring tides) the tides are higher. If the sun and moon are 90º from each other, the high tides will be lower. Tides are higher during the full moon when the sun and moon are on opposite sides of the earth.
I don’t remember the math involved, it was a long time ago in freshman Astronomy 1 but in fact it’s the moon’s gravity that causes the tidal budge on both sides of the earth. The idea that the earth’s rotation is slowing because of tides is not a new one, but the idea that the moons pull on the earth is just on one side is wrong.

Here's MORE serious problem: it there are more earthquakes in the equatorial zones it also means a LOT more volcanic activity there, too. And the Indonesian Archipelago--which straddles the Equator--has many volcanoes capable of spewing several cubic miles of volcanic ash.

Yep - just as He told us they would be.....
Knowing that He has told us how it will end, I have trouble with supposed Christians who jump on the "If we don't save the Earth, we're all gonna die" bandwagon...that's why it is unseemly for any religious leaders to talk about globull warming and other such things.

“This year” “next year”
Sorry, but it doesn’t go by years. The human year is just an arbitrary point in the Earth’s journey around the Sun. The Earth doesn’t give a cow fart about the human year.

The good news is, we won't have to worry about Global Warming ... That is because this is caused by climate change.

With the slowing of the earth’s rotation, days will be longer and we won’t age as fast. If it speeded up we’d probably all fly off......

These bulges pull the moon closer or farther away from Earth by around 4cm per year.
OMG! We’re all agonna die!
Yes, yes we are.
