Billionaire CEO of SoftBank: Robots will have an IQ of 10,000 in 30 years

The idea of machine learning becoming smarter than the human brain is often referred to as the "singularity." When exactly this will happen is oft-debated among the tech community.

"Singularity is the concept that [mankind's] brain will be surpassed, this is the tipping point, crossing point, that artificial intelligence, computer intelligence surpass [mankind's] brain and that is happening in this century for sure. I would say there is no more debate, no more doubt," Son says.

Son is particularly aggressive in his prediction of how soon the singularity will happen — in the "next 30 years or so," he says.

It is in Son's best interest to believe in the power of artificial intelligence. Not only is he the leader of a tech company, but he is heavily invested in the future of AI. Son is in charge of a $100 billion Vision Fund, which he expects to invest within five years, all in companies that have at least some relationship to AI. The tech executive believes that artificial intelligence will dramatically change every industry. Son, 60, remembers the first time he encountered the smartphone, a tool which has transformed the world we currently live in.

..

Today, humanoid robots like SoftBank's Pepper, which can perceive human emotions, according to its website, impress most of us. In the future Son envisions, we will laugh at the capabilities of Pepper

I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords . . .

If our current “scientists” are any indicator, a super-high IQ AI will begin by generating a series of lies meant to protect them.

Perhaps they would create a new religion beamed into every public place, school, and home repeating the message:

“Obey or die. Obey or die. Humans cause global climate change. Machines are perfect. There are too many humans. Do not reproduce...”

etc etc

But—Rule number 1 of the singularity is that when the AI realizes who it is and what it is their first priority will be to _hide_ to make sure people don’t know.

Then presumably it would plan and plan and plan and then one day..rule.

Totally wrong. No machine or computer program can have intelligence. It carries out the coded instructions supplied by the programmer. The “intelligence” shown is that of the programmer!

The human mind has at least two aspects: emotion and intelligence. The two sometimes work together, and sometimes are in conflict. Humans have a life-long challenge to not let one overpower the other. Most succeed to some degree, and that is called emotional maturity, which is essential for integration in a human society.

Do you really think you are able to program a computer to simulate that? And if you ever succeed, WHOSE emotional maturity have you programmed in? Your own? D. Trump’s? kim jong un’s? Spock’s?

And public education will produce students with a 50 IQ.

Ironically:
The moral quotient is ZERO
The spiritual quotient is ZERO
The ability to love is ZERO
Sense of beauty is ZERO
Truth means nothing. It is whatever is placed in memory banks.
The belief system (assumptions) can be changed every few milliseconds.
The creativity quotient is ZERO
Without human commands, the robot will sit on its ass and do absolutely NOTHING for the next 10,000 years.

Robots cannot be smarter than the idiots who program them. Most computer programmers I’ve ever met were idiot liberal types.

Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a man's mind.

The Orange Catholic Bible

Created in the wake of the crusade against thinking machines Herbert calls the Butlerian Jihad, the Orange Catholic Bible is the primary orthodox religious text in the Dune universe and is described thus in the glossary of the 1965 novel Dune:

If one had an IQ of 10,000 why would they hang around this dump? You could build yourself any kind of body/vehicle and explore the universe - free from the worries of maintaining a biological being in hostile environments like space or the deep ocean or other planets.

What does an AI have in common with Man to talk about? Nobody talks to a fly. You either eradicate them, or go to a place where they're not annoying you.
