Aren’t Panthers usually black, and the others brown/ beige?
Yeah. Right.
The Iowa DNR used a similar line for years until enough dead cougars ended up on their doorsteps.
>>Hmmmm . . . Revelation 6:7-8 tells of a coming time described as a milieu of horrible death in the period when the Black Horseman is unleashed on the earth. That prophetic period includes death by animals. Again, hmmmm.
So now that the Giant Cat of Doom has been unleashed, what will you do different?
Could be a puma. ;>)
Not saying this is the case, but here in Missouri people were reporting mountain lions and bears long before the Conservation Commission admitted they were in the state. Bears were possibly migrants from Arkansas (we tend to blame Arkansas and Kansas for everything) and mountain lions were said to be overactive imaginations.
Anyway, a couple of years ago, a young woman in Jackson, MO (Southeast Missouri) hit and killed a bear with her car. Pretty hard to claim they’re not here after that.
Looks like a Carolina Panther.
'Wildlife Officials' in our area say the same thing.
15 or so years ago, Mrs BN saw a mountain lion on our 'driveway', a one mile dirt logging trail through the forest.
Jaguars used to range through the American southwest. I understand they are making a comeback in Arizona and have been spotted in the Grand Canyon. Jaguars and mountain lions may have not gotten the memo that they are not supposed to reclaim former territory.
Let me guess: mountain lions live on mountains, panthers live in jungles, and cougars hang out in bars?
Many years ago Wyoming Game and Fish denied any sightings of wolves in the state, no matter how credible. Hunters, ranchers, trappers or anyone else it was a miss report, or a coyote or a big dog. The thing is if they ever accepted the fact that a wolf was in the state the threatened and endangered species act starts into effect and the state has to start a large and costly study and program to save the animals. Latter wolves were reintroduced and now different problems.
“There is a relatively new fad of hybrid house cats that are huge. Larger than most dogs.”
That is not correct. The (very rare) Savannah cats get up to around 30 lbs. if not obese. They are far smaller than the cat in the video, and don’t look the same at all with much longer legs.
That cat is either a cougar or a jaguar, IMO. Most likely a cougar.
Where I live, it’s a Catamount.
Looks melanistic, as well.
Even tiny kittens can be lethal. I have a dear little girl, not quite 5 pounds, who is ferocious, bites, scratches, etc etc...but she's also adorable, cuddly, and dear. And so it goes with felines.
Yes, looks like a yearling mountain lion hunting small critters.
I agree. We have them here in Western AR also. However, it is VERY unusual to see one in an open field in the day time.
Looks more like a Camry to me than a Cougar or Jaguar.
It’s Cletus from East of the Rockies.
Hey, George, you know dat cat? I know what it is and it ain’t no cat.
What is it?
It’s dem aliens in a cat suit. They dress up like cats so dey can blend in and spy on us as dey plan their invasion of Earth.
About 30 years ago my parents trailed a huge cat on their ranch that had left prints in the snow. It turned out to be a huge black cougar or panther. Another time their dog treed an ocelot. That one was pretty surprising. Another time we were hunting arrowheads and came upon a fresh killed deer that a big cat had killed, eaten his fill, and concealed the rest by covering it with tall grass. I heard a wild cat scream once. Very chilling. I got right back to the house asap.
