White says he stressed that the survivors who would be attending UFC 216 were shot while watching Aldean perform and it would mean a lot to them ... and the city of Las Vegas. Still, he declined.
Instead, Aldean flew to NYC and performed on Saturday Night Live at the same time as UFC 216. Needless to say, White is pissed.
“His image was more important then coming back to Vegas and playing for the people who are his fans and who got shot watching him play,” White says.
“Country music” sucks, and it looks like most of these guys that have opened their mouths since last Sunday are just a bunch of pussies in stupid looking hats.

Careful what you believe from Dana White.
As he had already booked snl he could not be in two places at one time and therefore had to turn down Vegas event.
I wonder if White contacted Big Kenny and John Rich (Big & Rich). They performed “God Bless America” at the ill-fated concert. I don’t think they would be ones to shirk this opportunity.

I said the day after, that, although I don’t know him well, I wouldn’t be shocked to hear a few “ we need better gun laws” type statements from him.

None of us here knows how we would feel, were it us performing instead, at least I do not.
It may take him quite a while to deal with that many reminders of how close he came to dying. Of course, it would have been the ‘right, nice and noble’ thing to do, but trauma doesn’t always follow the expectations of your base.
