Discussion Thread: Removing CNN from all airports.

CNN has always been partisan Democrat, but lately they have adopted a unbelievablely hyperpartisan, Anti-Trump stance. They are the opposite of objective, heavily invested in Democrat victories and talking down President Trump no matter what he says or does.

This hyperpartisan Non-News/Fake-News organization has done the following:

1. Given Hillary Clinton her debate questions in the fall of 2016.

2. Falsely accused Anthony Scaramucci of having ties to a Russian investment firm, a story they later retracted.

3. Has engaged in a series of leaks from unknown and anonymous sources, some of which violate National Security Standard.

4. Blackmailed a private citizen into conforming to speech they deem acceptable, under threat of doxxing and publically identifying him.

5. Permitted guests to call President Trump and his associates Nazis, and much worse -- all the way back to the inauguration

6. Relentlessly run negative stories about President Trump at a ratio of 93% negative to 7% positive.

For all these reasons, and so very many more, it is time for us to work to remove this Ministry of Propaganda Media from national airports. I seek to use the resources of the many people on Free Republic to do just that.

This thread will serve as a brainstorming and resource thread, and will track our progress.

As a very frequent traveler, I would love to see it gone from the monitors. But, these are locally run or even privately run airports, and I don’t think we have much say in it. I don’t know who pays for the TVs were the signal. I have plenty of online options on my iPhone and iPad so I completely nor the monitors as do a large majority of folks I see in the airports. It would be better, really to just get rid of them entirely.

My understanding is that CNN pays the airports to have their public TVs tuned to CNN.

Some people on Reddit have suggested changing the channel when you are traveling through airports with a mobile phone that has an IR blaster. I think the Samsung galaxy’s have that for example.

I thought that years ago CNN bought televisions for public venues all over the world, including airports and bus stations. Most stations on these TV’s were blocked out, and CNN was the only news station allowed. That's the deal for providing the free television sets for all these venues.

I’ve been complaining/posting about this, for a few months, now.

Flying only Space A DOD or rent C172’s from my local Aero Club, so haven’t been in a “TSA infested” Airport per se ..... haven’t seen CNN since 2008 when they got BHO elected . Close as I get to CNN is reading about them on conservative sites.

Runs in doctors offices and in college common areas too. I don’t think anyone loves CNN, it’s just got a very undeserved reputation for non-partisanship. FOX doesn’t run because it is viewed as partisan. BBC doesn’t because it isn’t American and it isn’t available in stripped down subscription services.

Just give people a non-partisan option and I think many would jump at it because since Katrina, CNN has had a reputation for being sensationalist ghouls.

Options:

(1)We need someone to out-bid CNN.

(2)We need to buy some stock of whoever ends up owning them, attend the board meetings, and heckle the management claiming the TVs are a waste of money.

(3) "Break" CNN by having Congree regulate Cable TV and demanding a la carte packaging (at a minimum for 24 hours "news" since we snowflakes find it offensive :-))

Last week I did quite a bit of travelling and stayed in a few hotels. When the email came yesterday to ‘submit a review of the hotel’, my first line under the category of “Things we could have done better” was this.... You had CNN on the large monitor of the lobby and breakfast area. Hotels should NEVER play revolting propaganda in their public areas.

Every time you go to the airport bug the stuffing out of some employee to turn it off. If joe grunt at the airport keeps hearing complaint after complaint maybe they will turn it off just to shut people up

Yep we all have Samsung galaxy;s here and we use the app to turn the TV over, and lower the volume.
