As a very frequent traveler, I would love to see it gone from the monitors. But, these are locally run or even privately run airports, and I don’t think we have much say in it. I don’t know who pays for the TVs were the signal. I have plenty of online options on my iPhone and iPad so I completely nor the monitors as do a large majority of folks I see in the airports. It would be better, really to just get rid of them entirely.

My understanding is that CNN pays the airports to have their public TVs tuned to CNN.
Some people on Reddit have suggested changing the channel when you are traveling through airports with a mobile phone that has an IR blaster. I think the Samsung galaxy’s have that for example.
call this into the rush limbaugh show
YES.
YES.
YES.
YES.
YES.
I wonder if this works on airport TVs? Available at Bezos Amazon and probably elsewhere. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/TV-B-Gone
Runs in doctors offices and in college common areas too. I don’t think anyone loves CNN, it’s just got a very undeserved reputation for non-partisanship. FOX doesn’t run because it is viewed as partisan. BBC doesn’t because it isn’t American and it isn’t available in stripped down subscription services.
Just give people a non-partisan option and I think many would jump at it because since Katrina, CNN has had a reputation for being sensationalist ghouls.
Last week I did quite a bit of travelling and stayed in a few hotels. When the email came yesterday to ‘submit a review of the hotel’, my first line under the category of “Things we could have done better” was this.... You had CNN on the large monitor of the lobby and breakfast area. Hotels should NEVER play revolting propaganda in their public areas.
How did it come to be that CNN got this? It is also the only news channel patients can view at Keck USC hospital.
This is a significant platform.
I only go to the airport for the free groping.
They got cable TV too?
Who knew.
I don’t like to fly any more and if and when I have to, I don’t want to have to sit in some remote corner where cnn can still be heard. LOL!
That would be great, even easier would be to stop posting thier shit here and on social media, and stop multiplying thier audience. The actual CNN broadcast audience is a million a day average the airport audience is roughly 2.5 million travellers a day if they are actually watching. And then 65 million trump voters sharing and spreading and reposting CNN and their crap everyday. Which group could make a bigger difference faster?
Plus CNN fired Sr. Drew for talking about hillarys health concerns
Laz, I think this is an excellent idea.
1. When you travel, submit travel reviews for hotels or public venues that have CNN on, that this ruined your travel experience. Similar reviews on Yelp, etc. These reviews get noticed, especially when the number of such reviews increases.
2. Pick one airport for protest and funnel all energy into removing CNN at that one airport. Once CNN gets removed there, we move on to another one. Then, the snowball effect takes place. This what the left does.
3. Pay kids to stick bumper stickers on the screens saying CNN sucks or CNN is Democrat Propaganda.
3. Reinforce to your circle of friends and family how CNN is pure leftist propaganda and not news. This is the
“raising consciousness” step. This will become easier once item #2 is underway.
4. Email and social media campaigns to advertisers and yes, boycotts, of CNN advertisers are necessary. Economic pressure is very effective, both on the advertisers and on CNN. Also to the public entities that run these airports, as we all pay taxes and fees that underwrite these places—why should we be brainwashed with propaganda every time we go through these facilities?
5. Another way to hasten the day of CNN’s demise is to cut the cable cord at home. Get a Roku Ultra, or other item and get your streaming of TV and news off the internet.
Cancel your AT&T subscriptions. Much easier to do.
Just boycott aviation as much as possible until CNN is removed.
I always carry a Universal Remote. It works in the Dentist’s office. Also Sea-Tac, Boise, Denver airports. Haven’t tried it anywhere else.
