I took a bunch of Boy Scouts to Blair Athol. A great Jamborette. I could not understand the Scots. I paid careful attention, and listened for the word 'f*ckin' It was always followed by a noun.
Oh, I suspect Ireland's low corporate taxes had more to do with that. Though, I'm certainly not disparaging the Irish people's command of the English language.

Have you ever been to Ireland? They speak Gaelic, it’s taught in school and there’s several TV channels that are in Gaelic, including a children’s cartoon channel. People spoke Gaelic to me and when they realized that I didn’t understand what they were saying, they switched to English.
They’ve gone pagan, unfortunately... Still, a lovely place.

I suspect Trudeau has a double-standard when it comes to immigration: Muslims are refugees and asylum seekers and eveyone else has to jump over the usual and reasonable hurdles to become a Canadian resident.

Maybe the immigration people are going through the motions with the English requirement, doing it because they have to letting in a lot of people who are not proficient. And they apply it to the English-speaking Irish too, to make it appear there is no discrimination going on.
