A former middle school gym teacher was arrested Monday for a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Monday.
Shawnetta D. Reece, 40, of Blairsville, was sexually involved with the student in 2013, the agency said in a news release.
Reece was arrested after the Union County Sheriff’s Office received information on the alleged relationship, and asked the GBI to assist with the investigation.
“The student was moving from the 8th grade into the 9th grade during this time,” the news release stated. “As a result of the investigation, Reece has been arrested for child molestation and sexual assault by persons with supervisory or disciplinary authority.”

With male teacher,male student...male teacher,female student...female teacher,female student it's easy to see how the student in question could be serious harmed psychologically.When it's female student,teenage boy it's less likely he would be *psychologically*.Yes,he can contract a disease...maybe even a serious one. Yes,the woman can become pregnant which probably wouldn't be in his best interests.
Males and females are wired differently.That goes double for males who've reached,or passed,their 15th birthday.

IOW, I’m fine with teachers losing their teaching cred for doing this (regardless of how pretty they are), but I don’t believe they should not see prison time at all. They are being locked up for acting on human nature. If it is physical rape, that is different.
It’s amazing how our culture tries to ignore human sexuality in such prudish ways while, at the same time, being hopelessly promiscuous about it. It’s kinda creepy.
But that is all just my opinion. My wife and I have said that if we were to raise kids again they would never see the inside of a public school. This isn’t the reason, but it is a side advantage.
Her booking photo makes her look more her age (40). Suspect some of this is middle-age crisis looking to prove how they still have “it”. But all she’d have to do is hit the nearest country saloon on any Friday night for evidence of that.
I don’t know why the teachers cross that line that should not be crossed. I don’t believe it’s ok for women to abuse young people who cannot make such decisions. I understand for male FReepers they are thinking that for the boy it’s merely a lovely moment that is more fun than masturbating. But it is abuse, taking someone’s will away by seduction.
Adults should not seduce children. We’ve drawn that line at 18, because you have to draw a line somewhere. Anyone who INSISTS on having sex with someone under that line (and there is a grey area with two peers, teen friends who are 17 and 18) IS A BAD PERSON.
This woman is a bad person. She can have sex with ANYONE over 18 if she wants sex. She chose to disobey. How much you “love” them doesn’t matter. Woody Allen claimed to his 5 year old that it was because he loved her that much.
Maybe it harms the boy, maybe it doesn’t. Too much of it harms him. Being a long term pet of an older powerful woman and used for sex (often plied with substances) harms boys. I know some who really had ruined lives after such abuse.

as a former 15 year old male (formerly 15, not formerly male) , i have no problem with it. LOL
They are extinct. It saddens me that my grandkids never had the same experience. They were my role models.

To be really clear, I’m talking about when the government should be involved via laws. I’m with you about when people should be sexually active. Frankly, I put it at 21 or older.

The worst part of me is that it’s a teacher who has some sway and potentially is very influential because of status, over a student. Like Clinton and his intern. in sexual harassment it is assumed the manager has force and say over the lower level employee because they their need to be secure in their job. Same with teachers.
