You don’t feel the need to protect these young people who may have sexually matured but whose minds can’t handle the intricacies and manipulativeness of adults??

That is really not called for. We simply set the bar at different ages. For me, the age of consent should be when a child becomes an adult - physically.

I feel the same way about when a person should be tried as an adult for a crime. Age 12.

I’m basing this on my rudimentary understanding of old Jewish law and human nature.

To be really clear, I’m talking about when the government should be involved via laws. I’m with you about when people should be sexually active. Frankly, I put it at 21 or older.
