If this is where he worked, unemployment looks like a promotion.

So how did he get from CA to VA? Seems a little unusual that a food service worker would have enough vacation days and spare money to make this trip. (This is, of course, all wild speculation.) Did they identify the right guy? Or do "these people" "all look alike".

The story says he was employed at a place called Top Dog in Berkeley, California.

There's probably much more to this story than meets the eye. In fact, the guy might even be an "Antifa" plant.

If we're going to start firing people for what they do after work then we've gone down a whole new dangerous road.

The new meme is that there is "no place in America for..."

Even voices on the right are using this expression.

I guess this is how it works out in practice. At least this is how it begins working. It wouldn't surprise me if it ends in exile or loss of citizenship. We're in uncharted waters.

Did you RTFA or are you just here to sow dissent like a good antifa’er?

To eliminate those who caused your poverty will not make you wealthy.

You wanna be sick? Bill DeBlasio, the slime of NY who traveled all the way to Europe to protest instead of taking care of his city, is positioning to run for President!

I only got to this point before I stopped reading:

Donald Trump further riled tempers by complaining about 'hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides' rather than only slamming the fascists.

This isn't a news story. It's a propaganda piece. Why would Donald Trump only "slam the fascists" when it was the leftist mutants running all over the place with bats, assaulting people in cars with out-of-state license plates?

Unless there's something in the contract at his work I'd be contacting an attorney.

California is an "At Will" state and his employer has every right to fire him, even for no reason at all........

Why would you then blindly defend the firing like a good leftist mutant?

Not only does he have a case against his former employer, like the guy from google does, he has a case against the daily mail.

The daily mail is a UK publication where they have much stricter defamation laws than the US.

The title of the article characterizes the guy fired as a “thug” even though the pic just shows him standing in a crowd with a light.

If there was a pic of the guy beating someone up, you could call him a thug. That’s not the case here.

He could even say the article contributed to his being fired.

That's funny. Yesterday I was practically called a neo-Nazi here because I suggested that the guy who ran over a bunch of people with his car may not be guilty of any crimes.

I didn't defend the firing of anyone. I simply pointed out that the reason for his firing may have nothing to do with what some sensationalist foreign media rag claims was the reason for his firing.

P.S. -- Now I will defend the firing. I believe his employer should be able to fire him for any reason whatsoever. Case closed.

For all we know, he may have been fired because he didn’t show up to work on Saturday. Or maybe he called out sick and his employer just learned that he was actually attending a demonstration miles away

It's a restaurant in Berkely, California. What do you think?

California is a work at will state. Your employer can fire you for any reason that doesn't violate the anti-discrimination laws.
