‘Justine did not have to die’: Police chief condemns bride-to-be shooting

MINNEAPOLIS — The fatal shooting of an Australian woman by a Minneapolis police officer responding to her 911 call “should not have happened,” police Chief Janee Harteau said Thursday, adding that the officer’s actions “go against who we are in the department.”

In her first public remarks since the death of Justine Damond, a 40-year-old life coach and bride-to-be, Harteau defended Officer Mohamed Noor’s training but criticized his actions.

“The actions in question go against who we are in the department, how we train and the expectations we have for our officers,” Harteau said. “These were the actions and judgment of one individual.”

Apparently those traits made him perfect for the MPD.

It is interesting that they are not 1. Defending him. or 2. Not saying anything.

Most of the time you will not hear the police chief say anything like this till after a conviction.

> so why do seek to condemn all of us for the iniquities of one?

For the same exact reason you are diligently defending a murderer and all the corrupt processes that are going to let him get away with it.

Just as long as the cop got to go home to his family, then all is OK. Plus we don’t know the whole story, and it was probably suicide by cop (add any other BS that cop suckers say to excuse this murder you think ought to go here)

Consider the fact that Police have been being assassinated, even in their vehicles.

By white women in pajamas?

“I live in the foothills east of Seattle. If there is any kind of disturbance around my house the police are the last thing I would call. Show up and shoot my dog.”

My fear too. Its as if the police are not satisfied with having the entire black race despise thmm so now they’re after the scorn of everyone else. Problem is police see and treat all civilians (eg non police)as potential scum and the enemy.Having said that is not to condemn them all as it varies from person to person and department to department. It all stems back to polticians and leadership which in most cases is piss poor It is a thankless, dangerous job and they confront the very worst and most dangerous dregs of society. They have to deal with the most grisly and bloody scenes. Kind of like living with PTSD. Become very jaded with huge psychological defense mechanisms at play.Take it out on everybody.

“And this is the veiled mayor of Minneapolis, submitting to islam...
I’m speechless... I didn’t realize Minneapolis was so far gone.”

It is and has been for years. What can you expect from a city of foaming at the mouth left wing democrats?

Police chief condemns bride-to-be shooting

This is just talk. Unless the ahole cop who murdered her is tried and convicted of murder 2 (I doubt there was premeditation), NOTHING will change.

The woman probably came right up to the driver side window. I don’t know. I’m just talking probabilities.

What’s going to be interesting is the racial angle that’s going to come about. If this were a white cop ... yada yada yada.

They must train to shoot through patrol car doors over top of their partners.

I can’t tell with the ravenous frenzy if I’m witnessing educated arguments or an emotional tirade on full display. I haven’t yet heard him make any proclamations to Jihad, his history doesn’t point to that or any violence in the name of Islam. Thus far the only thing proven is that it was a careless shooting for now with more to come out.

This incessant need to make it more than it is in the present is ideaology and that is just as dangerous as Muslim fanatisism. I agree with your points and they are reasoned.

> he will be charged but he will spend no more than one to three years in prison <

Yep. and that’s probably the best we can hope for. No one except Officer Noor knows what he was thinking when he shot that poor woman.

But if this goes to trial, the cop will go with that old standby “I was in fear for my life”, due to the loud noise he heard just before he shot that woman.

Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if Noor isn’t charged at all, because “he was in fear for his life”. In that case, Noor gets fired for incompetence, the city pays off the family, and that’s that.

It wasn’t self defense.
Wasn’t accident.
Wasn’t in defense of someone else.
He intended to pull the trigger.

Numbers 35

...These six cities shall be for refuge for the children of Israel, for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them, that anyone who kills a person accidentally may flee there.

16 ‘But if he strikes him with an iron implement, so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. 17 And if he strikes him with a stone in the hand, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. 18 Or if he strikes him with a wooden hand weapon, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. 19 The avenger of blood himself shall put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death. 20 If he pushes him out of hatred or, while lying in wait, hurls something at him so that he dies, 21 or in enmity he strikes him with his hand so that he dies, the one who struck him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.

22 ‘However, if he pushes him suddenly without enmity, or throws anything at him without lying in wait, 23 or uses a stone, by which a man could die, throwing it at him without seeing him,so that he dies, while he was not his enemy or seeking his harm, 24 then the congregation shall judge between the manslayer and the avenger of blood according to these judgments. 25 So the congregation shall deliver the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall return him to the city of refuge where he had fled, and he shall remain there until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil. 26 But if the manslayer at any time goes outside the limits of the city of refuge where he fled, 27 and the avenger of blood finds him outside the limits of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood,28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the manslayer may return to the land of his possession.

29 ‘And these things shall be a statute of judgment to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 30 Whoever kills a person, the murderer shall be put to death on the testimony of witnesses; but one witness is not sufficienttestimony against a person for the deathpenalty. 31 Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall surely be put to death. 32 And you shall take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may return to dwell in the land before the death of the priest. 33 So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it.34 Therefore do not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell; for I theLord dwell among the children of Israel.’”
