An Australian woman who was living in Minnesota and engaged to be married next month was shot dead by police — after she called 911 to report a disturbance behind her house.

Three sources with knowledge of the incident said that when they arrived, the officers pulled around back and were immediately confronted by Damond, who was in her pajamas.

As she attempted to speak to the cop in the driver’s seat, the other officer apparently unholstered his gun and started blasting — striking her through the driver’s side door, the sources said.

My immediate suspicion is female cop. They’re going to claim negligent discharge. Whoever it is, remove that person from the police force.

There's your problem right there, two cops sharing one gun.

Collectivism! You've got a point there!

The Democrat Party owns Minnesota. The Democrat Party owns this tragedy!

So many questions to be answered yet.

IMO the large majority of police shootings are at least "understandable" if not completely justified. But it's hard to imagine this shooting having been *either*.

Best case scenario is that the cop who fired has serious psych/alcohol/drug problems.Worst case scenario is that he's a psychopath.

Local police have released very few details about the shooting — only revealing that the cops’ body cameras were not switched on at the time of the incident. The dashcam in their squad car did not capture the events, either.

Convenient. The cops are following Hillary protocols. Delete all incriminating evidence.

Possibilities, in no particular order of probability:

1. Bad/stupid/jumpy/dumb cop.

2. Crazy/drunk/stoned/stupid victim.

3. Unknown third party.

4. Aliens. Zeta Reticuli, not Tijuana.

The cops shot two dogs responding to a burglary call a couple weeks ago.
http://www.startribune.com/money-pouring-in-for-vet-bills-for-2-dogs-shot-by-police-in-n-mpls-yard/433637483/

Looks from the video that the dogs were not a threat.

Unfortunate lesson: Don’t call the cops; take care of the problem yourself or ignore it.

I read this story and realized that there are key components missing.

I have no opinion about any of the actors in this story until some key questions are answered. It is best to avoid jumping to conclusions on something like that.

Also, when a story makes no sense (like this one does), often, once you get all the facts you realize that the “crazy” actions of one person either were appropriate - or never happened.

I’m guessing the cops didn’t see her and were startled when she stuck her head in the window, or as she was talking to them, the passenger cop had an unintentional discharge. That would be a bizzare shot for the passenger to take right across his partner.

Murder.

And they'll get away with it.

And as usual, the cop suckers here on fr are coming up with the usual excuses leading the pack the good old "We don't know the whole story bs." Well actually we DO know the whole story. She approached the cops unarmed and one of them shot her from within the car and killed her. . Still waiting for the "You want them to be able to go home to their families at night don't you?" (answer not if they kill people because they can) and "They felt threatened" If I "feel threatened" can I kill someone just for fun? Oh wait I'm not a cop so I can't, and since I don't get off on killing people I don't want to kill anyone anyway (Except maybe some of those violent democrat agitators who can't seem to understand that the left LOST).

“apparently unholstered his gun and started blasting”

“apparently” = They really don’t know shite.

“unholstered” = They are likely correct here as cops usually (/s) don’t fire their guns while still in their holsters.

“his” = meaning it was a male cop (actually, not these days)

“started blasting” = hyperbole. Again, they really don’t know shite.

And this officer wasn’t even wearing a killer SWAT costume, so she wasn’t prepared to be shot by a Barney Fife sitting in the squad car.

Well, I don’t think the gun was in it’s holster, and it didn’t go off by itself.

So, that’s an accurate description.

You need to make sure the cop feels safe.

It’s funny, but when I was a kid it was the cops’ job to make the citizen feel safe.

When did that turn around?
