Energy chief: Carbon dioxide not prime driver of warming
Associated Press ^ | Jun 19, 2017 11:54 AM EDT | Matthew Daly

Energy Secretary Rick Perry says he does not believe carbon dioxide is a primary contributor to global warming, a statement at odds with mainstream scientific consensus but in line with the head of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Perry was asked Monday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” whether carbon emissions are primarily responsible for climate change and said no.

He added that “the most likely the primary control knob is the ocean waters and this environment that we live in.” …

The prime driver of warming is the energy received from the Sun. So, wrong.

You state the obvious but actually ocean current patterns such as El Nino, La Nina, and the North Atlantic Oscillation have a strong association with natural variations in the weather. I suppose Energy Secretary Rick Perry was trying to point this out. The record rains this year on our West Coast was associated with the strong El Nino. Warmists try to claim that CO2 has a similar association with the weather which is absolutely nonsense.

I remember that year. Great Grandpa called it, ‘Eighteen Hundred and Froze to Death.’ ;)

Very interesting read; I had forgotten about that. Thank G-D we’re coming OUT of the Ice Age we had just a short 3 million years ago! :)

Lucky you! ;)

I’m enjoying a GORGEOUS, breezy, 72-and-partly-sunny kind of day. Getting a lot done in the garden; I’m on my lunch break right now. Gonna hang laundry after I’m done goofing off here at FR.

The heat and humidity will be killer later in the summer, but for today? I’ll take it!

The most potent greenhouse gas out there: water vapor. Many more times affecting Earth's climate than CO2. That's why during solar maximum conditions, the oceans tend to be warmer, and that leads to more water evaporation, leading to very dramatic climate effects like tornadoes and hurricane/cyclone/typhoon conditions in warmer waters.

“a statement at odds with mainstream scientific consensus”

How lie does the lie that there is “consensus” in science have to be exposed before the “mainstream” media quits the propaganda that there is “consensus”, when none exists.

That settles it. The UN is never wrong. (Sarcasm)

Check out continental drift over the ages and the mean global temperature. There is a STRONG correlation between ocean currents and temperature. Look at the Younger Drayas also.

Let’s see.
I am public school kid but I will try this one.

Let’s look at the solar system.
- One of these things is not like the other.
- Gigantic Glowing Burning white hot ball in the middle.
- It’s a huge nuclear fusion reactor.

I bet this could affect the climate on the planets.
Looks like there are flares and periods of increased and decreased activity.

BINGO... there is the climate control for planet Earth !!!

Please, give me a break, these idiots.

Carbon Dioxide is food for almost every living plant on earth.

They use it to make plants grow faster/hardier in green houses.

The whole thing from the quack scientists to the corrupt pope is a gigantic money making scheme.

Maybe the biggest lie of all time.
