The key here is who initiated the physical contact.
If the men who went to ‘quiet’ the guy ranting initiated physical contact then there might be a case made the stabbings were in self defense.
Absolutely - it took a hard left as soon as the opening credits were done, and stayed there the entire 2-hour episode. I was quite disappointed, as (aside from the usual left-leaning and predictable Christian-bashing) it has some of the best story lines and realistic acting on TV - completely different from any of the Chicago-based cop/firehouse/hospital shows, all of which seem contrived and over-acted.
That might be because there's no reason to believe the two men who intervened were Muslim.

They seemed to want to appease both sides. They had the gay Muslim deported and the Hispanic guy killed, but the white people were just liberal machinations of total and complete white trash while spouting pseudo-conservative viewpoints despite actions being incongruous with social norms among Republicans.
The liberals just want whitey killing everyone so they can say, “See! I told you white privilege was real!”

I wonder what exactly “tried to intervene” means. Tried to talk to him? Or got in his face and threatened to beat him down? Grabbed him? Pushed him? What did they do, exactly?
That may depend upon state laws. Verbal assault, name calling etc. does not necessarily constitute initial aggression. Of course, calling Mudslimes names may be a different thing.
The MSM and the Politicians need to point out the he was crazy and a lone wolf. Their first concern should be that there is no backlash against white people.
