Whale Cams Reveal Secret Antarctic Feeding Habits

Whale cams have revealed the secret feeding habits of the giant mammals in frozen Antarctica, details on their social lives, and even how they must blow hard to clear sea ice to breathe.

Scientists attached tiny cameras and electronic tags to humpbacks to better understand what they do underwater as they study how shrinking sea ice caused by warming sea temperatures linked to climate change may impact them.

“Once we have an idea about where the whales feed, how often, where they go and rest, we can use this to inform policy and management to protect these whales and their ecosystem,” leading whale scientist Ari Friedlaender said Tuesday.

The Australian Antarctic Division-led team said the information helped determine how the abundance of their main food, krill, affected the feeding success of whales.

Out of habit, former National Security Advisor Susan Rice denied any knowledge of these secret recordings.

Ultimately that information will be most useful to whale hunters and come a world food crisis, those whales will be hunted mercilessly.

I’ve got some very bad news for these “scientists”:

Antarctic sea ice is growing, and hitting new all-time records every year.

“...and even how they must blow hard to clear sea ice to breathe... they study how shrinking sea ice caused by warming sea temperatures linked to climate change may impact them.”

So whales “clearing” sea ice is okay but shrinking sea ice is bad. Nuanced.

Sort of how it’s okay for American Indians to kill endangered eagles for their feathers.

It's hard to believe how self-deluded and arrogant some screwballs are:
"Once we have an idea about where the whales feed, how often, where they go and rest, we can use this to inform policy and management to protect these whales and their ecosystem."
Whales have been around for thousands of years. They will be here on earth long after humans have gone extinct. They have no need for "policy" makers.

Whales are mammals.
They need to surface to breathe.
Much easier to breathe once they’ve breached the sea ice, rather than poking their snout into thick ice, looking for a space to surface before they die.

We’re all gonna die because of Gore’s globull warming! Ahhhhh!

All the sailing people I know around me, even the greeniest ones, know that they can spot more and more whales (and dolphins too) in the sea over the last decades.
But don’t expect the bablingsphere to reveal this inconvenient truth.

Saw this on Discovery Chanel?, NGO?, one of those. These fools go out in small open boats, in icy, dead if you fall in, water to attach and retrieve these cameras.

It’s dangerous enough that they have to get very close to the whales to attach these cameras, but in order to get any information they must find the same whales and physically retrieve the cameras.

These people aren’t brave, they are STUPID!!!
