Thought it well past time to get a 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs discussion thread going, now just 2 games into the 2017 Playoffs.

Capitols are sure dominating and pressuring this overtime, it’s difficult to see the Leafs getting something at least, from these first 5 minutes of OT....

And look at that, the Caps lose,

The bad news is that only 5 of my 8 first-round picks are still alive.

The good news is that my only correct pick in Round 1 in the Western Conference was Anaheim -- who I picked to go all the way to the Finals.

Rangers finally woke up against the Habs. Anaheim looks like they have a clear path to the finals with Chicago gone. Nashville always surprises. Could they surprise STL? I think so. Ovi is hurtin. Expect Penguins to beat him up.

Five out of my eight are still standing, although CHI ruins the SCF matchup a bit. But I have WSH winning it all, anyway, although that prediction is looking a little less certain since PIT seems to have their number and WSH wasn't anything special vs. TOR. EDM beat last year's Western SC finalist, so we'll see if they can work their magic against ANA. If McDavid breaks out, I could see them making a Cinderella run to the finals. NSH is the team to watch in the West, though - they have a strong defense and goaltending when Rinne is on his game, and they scored enough against a CHI team that surprisingly couldn't produce offense. I still think NSH's forward group is average, so we'll see if that is their Achilles heel.

I’m still going with Washington. Pittsburgh is also banged up and Washington has a lot of forward depth. Justin Williams might be the best clutch player in the NHL today, and he could be the difference in any tight game.

In the West:

Ducks, I’d love to see their opponents win but Edmonton has just gotten back into the playoff mix.

Predators, after some thought, I think they will win, 7 game series.

In the East:

Most of the people here are per the Eastern teams, I think I will back off on this.

I turned it off before seeing them throw trash. How rude. One of the best things in playoff hockey is the good sportsmanship even though losing is heartbreaking.

My bracket is half busted. But I can’t see my bracket any more because the NHL appp says they are keeping it safe but won’t let me see it at this time. Picture crazy face emoticon. ?!

I did very well on the western side. So far. Go Preds, go Ducks.
