There's nothing quite as frustrating as a bad movie ending. Failure to stick that landing in the final act can totally ruin an otherwise great film, or give us one more reason to hate one that was already a dud. Here's a look at some of the most annoying movie endings in recent memory. And it should go without saying, but spoilers ahead…

The Matrix Revolutions | 0:23
X-Men: The Last Stand | 0:59
Signs | 1:44
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 | 2:43
Now You See Me | 3:27
I Am Legend | 4:15
Man of Steel | 5:14
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King | 6:06

No competition.

Except maybe "The Sopranos."

“The Mist”
“The House of Sand and Fog”

Two of the most depressing movie endings ever....

Another Mitchum film, The Sundowners. They should have got the farm and settled down.

Spiderman 3 was cringe worthy. Justifies the guy who murdered his uncle because his little girl was sick. Liberal insanity.

I think the producers of I Am Legend anticipated this.

The DVD has an alternate ending that I liked much better.

Agree about that Officer movie but the truth for me is that I could watch Debra Winger all day and night in any flick.

I was smitten forever by her when she was Wonder Woman’s sister and that is the way that it still is.

Sort of.

"Hey, who's to say a super advanced alien civilization wouldn't be using C++ programing code."

No, Silly!

Jeff Goldblum is so darn smart he types in Assembler-BAL.

Meanwhile, my vote for Worst of All Time is:

The Archer - Fugitive From the Empire.

Oh, you reminded me there was some movie with Mel Gibson and there was a love story and he called his penis Mr. wiggly at some point. Then the story comes to and end and the last scene is the two lovers sailing on his sailboat. As the camera pans out from a helicopter shot, he unfurls the sail and it says in YUGE letters “Mr Wiggly.” Maybe that is funny in kindergarten but it sure looked stupid.

“My favorite is Avatar.”

Wow. You made it to the end of “Avatar”?

I turned it off after a half hour then threw it out. Puerile leftist propaganda BS.

Bad movie endings:

Every Star Trek movie. They always give the evil guys a second chance, even after butchering millions or billions of people.

Nothing wrong with the end of The Return of the King. It ends the same way the book did - Frodo leaves for the undying lands and Sam returns home to his wife and children in the Shire.

They did skip over the Scouring of the Shire and the Death of Saruman, but they did enough violence to The Lord of the Rings in those movies that it doesn’t really matter.

Maybe they told the aliens that they were a Nigerian diplomat who had a large sum of money to get out of the country.

I never saw the Sopranos. So that could be, but hard to imagine. I doubt anyone at the end of Dexter said anything but WTF?
