A Poll, did you support Trump or Freedom Caucus?

Posted on 03/27/2017 5:04:01 PM PDT by MNDude

I've heard a lot of differing views directing anger, disappointment and relief at the various parties in Washington lately.

So I'm wanting to take a poll.

Did you support passage of Trump's and Ryan's healthcare bill? Or Did you support Freedom Caucus stopping it?

Trump. My Twitter feed indicates more are supporting Trump than FC. Obviously the FC doing nothing to repeal and replace OCare other than talk, talk, talk, is hurting them. A 7 year track record of doing nothing speaks volumes.

The media. And fox are working very hard to make trump and the freedom caucus mutually exclusive.

People here are so ready to throw trump under the bus.

Got trump to get rid of regulatory govenrnment he’s got to be very busy It’s just what he is doing.

Congress has done nothing in at least eight years. The GOPe wanted Hillary to win as much as they didn’t want the majority in 2010 and 2014. Why would trump waste his time with them. If I were him I’d get their leaders busy chasing their tails so they end up looking silly.

Bugs bunny

Do people here expect trump to come out and apologize for something?

Brett baiers show pointed out today, so did mark levin, that trump is turning into a democrat Where’s the proof in that? That he let Paul Ryan put his stupid Obamacare bill out there to get shot down?

It’s so small. Trump is not a weak political hack . He has a brilliant strategic mind that he has tested over decades of successful plans. He’s going to allow the failing lazy selfish US congress, who can’t even recognize whom they work for (us) to beat him?

That is a silly notion

RINO Ryan’s responsibility is to pass legislation for the good of the people. RyanCare was created to hurt Trump in the long haul. FC was right to vote against it.

Do a replace bill, let the free market take over. Then work on two separate bills for tort reform and cross the border healthcare law. If there is consensus to cover per-existing conditions, then move on it. Covering an adult to 26yo is icing for the insurance companies, prob a additional payoff for their support of ACA.

Planned parenthood was just defunded for a year and it sure as hell did not have to be a three step process. Anyone who believes step 2 and 3 would have come to fruition is living in la la land.
All the crap was in the first step and the goodies in the next steps. I’ve read that book before when the dems were going to seal the border!!!

I am fine with Trump giving the HFC some grief. The polls about the policy meant nothing - people had little insight into the legislation. All they knew was that the left and many on the right labeled it as the worst legislation ever developed. The problem involved the three phase approach to tackling the issue which seemed well beyond the capacity of the HFC to grasp. They wanted such measures (ex. selling insurance across state lines) right now and would not accept anything less. POTUS knows the HFC/Never Trumpers are not the folks you want in the fox hole.

True. Most of the FC are backbenchers who no one would recognize by name or face. They haven’t accomplished anything and never will, except to band together to block the new Presiden Trump on his first major piece of legislation in a spectacularily stupid way. All of their objections could and would have been dealt with through the reconciliation process between House and Senate but no, they had to stand on their ideology. And just like Cruz, we see again that unbending conservative ideology gets you lots of attaboys from a minority of the population. Plus, by opposing Trump they put themselves in the crosshairs. You can be assured that Trump will do everything possible to never allow this situation to happen again - take that as a promise or a threat, whichever you prefer.

As Rep. Poe said, they never would agree to a deal because they were out to prove a point. Now we will see has the most points when Obamacare continues to fail and they are held responsible for blocking replacement.

If the bill had passed, it would have gone to the Senate which would have kicked it back to Conference with amendments.

The Freedom Caucus killed not the bill, but the entire process.

When the bill came back to conference, the Freedom Caucus could have pushed for their amendments or killed the bill in Conference.

They kill any chance for the bill.

They are purists who demand their way or the highway.

Freedom Caucus IS Trump, as far as I can tell. The two disagreed on nothing, except how to get it there.

Ryan put out a sink hole for Trump in his Phase 1, and NOBODY I know trusts Phases II and III, or trusts that they would even happen.

Too much information, I know, but also *Dude, knowing the Senate would rip Phase I (Ryan’s bill) to shreds, we should have sent them a much more conservative Bill to shred.

We sold a lot down the river right out of the gate, it seems to me, to please that Parliamentarian, right? Then, the FCaucus discovers that was a lie of Paul Ryan’s. Mike Lee went over to see the Senate Parliamentarian and discovered they (the House) COULD get rid of Obamacare.

Go figure. Ryan didn’t want the Conference to even talk to the Senate Parliamentarian. I wonder why?

Tom Price, he was put there to dismantle Obamacare and he should never have supported this half baked piece of crap.

You are right - folks do not trust the government and that makes it almost impossible for Trump to govern. I am willing to give him room to lead and will judge his actions appropriately.
