Katy Perry: ‘I Did More’ Than Just Kiss a Girl During Christian Upbringing at Summer Camp
Breitbart News ^ | 19 March 2017 | by DANIEL NUSSBAUM

Posted on 03/19/2017 4:11:21 PM PDT by drewh

Pop superstar Katy Perry opened up about her religious upbringing during the Human Rights Campaign’s annual gala dinner in Los Angles Saturday night, explaining that she felt “curious” abut her sexuality while attending Christian youth groups as a child. While accepting the evening’s National Equality Award, the 32-year-old “Roar” singer — who was raised by two pastors and began her singing career in churches — said that she had spent her childhood attempting to “pray the gay away at Jesus camps.”

Perry added that the lyrics to her 2008 breakout single “I Kissed a Girl” were just a tease of what she’d done during her upbringing.

“Truth be told, I did more than that,” she said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “But how was I going to reconcile that with the gospel-singing girl raised in youth groups that were pro-conversion camps? What I did know was I was curious, and even then I knew sexuality was not as black and white as this dress. But in 2008, when that song came out, I knew that I started a conversation, and a lot of the world seemed curious enough to sing along, too.”

The singer said her childhood “bubble started to burst” when she was introduced to LGBT people in her professional life.

“These people were nothing like I had been taught to fear,” she said. “They were the most free, strong, kind and inclusive people I have ever met. They stimulated my mind and they filled my heart with joy, and they freaking danced all the while doing it. These people are actually magic, and they are magic because they are living their truth. Oh, my goodness, what a revelation… and not the last chapter of the Bible.”

Why do we always have to give special kudos and recognition to women who perform some task guys have been doing for thousands of years?

Not all that say they are Christian will be confirmed by Christ in the end. The Bible warns us of this, and also gives us signs of those who are false. It clearly states that Homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

It also says repentance can reverse that situation, but she is clearly not in repentance. Her joy is her Lusts, not her Love for God.

She, if she does not repent, is NOT a Christian.

Having had a number of Gay neighbors I learned that they can be nice, but are incredibly vindictive and are never Strong in spirit, only the flesh.

Another illustration of why bubble head performers should just "shut up and sing."

Good link there SkyPilot.

She in an interview discussed her first gospel album made when she was 15, then stated she sold her soul to the devil at 16.
Next thing, she is jazzed with LGBT.

Looks like it worked.

There are only two causes I have seen for homosexuality, one is child abuse, the other is rejecting God for the world.

In her case there is no indication of the first.

They were the most free, strong, kind and inclusive people I have ever met.
I love the way they throw around the world inclusive. They couldn't be more further from the truth.
Also, why is she not in a 'relationship' with a woman since she's an adult now and away from her eeeevil religious family? She goes from man, to man, to man, to men.

“Oh, my goodness, what a revelation… and not the last chapter of the Bible.”

Revelation is not the last chapter of the Bible. It is the last book of the Bible. And it does have a lot to say about such choices. For example...

Revelation 9:21
And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

“They were the most free, strong, kind and inclusive people I have ever met.”

Yes, I’ve seen the homosexuals who go out of their way to be the hero. They are the ones that will rescue the lost puppy. They will be deliberative when it comes to the proper, ethical, and fair way to handle any particular dilemma. They often feel more deeply than anyone else. They’re caring than anyone else. They’re more offended at injustice than anyone else.

And they’re inclusive, unless you are a Christian or conservative. Then they make death threats. Or they demand that you endorse their perversion and participate in some way, or sue you out of business. Or they may throw you in jail. But horrible threats and harassment work too. They’re real inclusive like that.

And their sexual perversion desensitizes them to other things, like sexual abuse of children and abortion.

They have higher rates of depression and suicide, not because society is intolerant, but their own conscience and reason are screaming at them to take a different course of action. But they find themselves incapable of doing so. So they feel a great need for other people to let them know they are normal.

The reality is that homosexuality will continue to get worse in our culture until they are beating down your door to rape your family and your guests. The Bible that Perry disdains clues us in on this much.

Continuing the “girl in plaid” anti-catholic anti-woman tirade of a tired, boring a@@ un-entertaining nobody. Desperate for a lena dunham reaction.... to BE somebody someone cares about.

Earth to Perry— nobody gives a sh@# in a world of serious problems and people trying to survive. You are like the fattest reject chorus line girl from Wiemar “Cabaret” Wilkommen, frau grossen!

The reason homosexuality is something to protect children from and be preached against is unique. It has very little in common with philanderers, thieves, liars and the divorced. You see, the only sin that comes complete with only a slim possibility of remission of sin is homosexuality. The reason is, pride in the sin. Sure people will say how everyone sins or makes mistakes in life. Some major, but all do minor sins. Unique though is the complete inability to accept that what they did or do is wrong. Without a repentance, then turning away from the behavior, as far as I can tell there just is no salvation. If that is not something to guard your children from exposure to, I don’t know what is.

We need to know and guard against the slide into sexual deviancy for our children. It is clear that young people will mimic the behavior of those people that they see as popular, or above them and worthy of “worship”. The news of the day is a teaching tool.

What's that they say?
"With God, all things are possible.
Without God, all things are permissible."
Sometimes during my morning break around 9:30, I'll listen to BBN radio's rebroadcasts of Adrian Rogers' sermons. I think he's S. Baptist and they're generally pretty hardcore about the Bible basics.

In sermon #2043 "The Lost World", he does an exceptional job laying out and explaining the three steps to destruction outlined and detailed in Romans 1:18-31:

1. Man's willful self-determination
2. Man's wicked self-deception
3. Man's woeful self-destruction
As Adrian Rogers notes in his sermon, that destruction comes in several stages, first of all, being sexual perversion.

If she has the some time and the inclination, pop superstar Katy Perry would do well to read this scary letter from a soul in hell.

It might rock her world view in yet another new way with lots of love and healthy fear.

understood.
the cesspool needs a great deal of draining before we can get it back to even a “reasonable” condition

and i think a good first step, if attainable????, would be for the mass media to stop promoting all this rot

used to be, stuff did happen, people do stuff.... but even when it was pretty obviously going on, the major mass media did not highlight it...............didn’t put it on page 1 all the time.....as if it were “newsworthy”

One of the comments at the site sums it up. It is all about marketing and not talent. Her talent is marketing.

Recently 1260am radio here in Los Angeles area started to play oldies again from the 50’s and 60’s Friday thru Monday morning then jazz and big band music the rest of the week. Now K-SURF LA Oldies. What music!
The other “oldies’ station 101.1fm plays music from the 80’ and 90’s and it is mostly awful. Forget any new “marketing” from this century.

>> The child of two evangelical ministers, Katy Perry began her career as a Christian singer. Her parents are born again Christians, each having turned to religion after a "wild youth" <<

Well, good thing she got "saved" by her parents and wasn't raised in one of those nasty "unbiblical" churches that believes in infant baptism < /sarcasm>
