The Left's Descent into Fascism
American Thinker ^ | 18 Mar, 2017 | Shari Goodman

Long before the creation of ghettos and concentration camps, the demonization of Jews began in 1933 when Germany elected Adolf Hitler as Chancellor. Following his election, Hitler created a fascist dictatorship which eventually led to the Holocaust and the extermination of six million Jews whose only crime was their Jewish identity. The dehumanization of Jews was a necessary requirement for Hitler and his fellow Nazis and they did so with a campaign of demonization, ridicule, and blame. Hitler's election provided Germans a daily dose of anti-Semitism and gave it legitimacy while providing a rationalization for the extermination of six million Jews.

The persecution of European Jewry was gradual. At first Jews were no longer welcome at schools and universities. Later, they were no longer able to own their businesses and homes. With time, public transportation was unavailable to them, public restrooms were forbidden, hospitals excluded them and eventually they were no longer able to use public streets or go outdoors. They were complete outcasts in a land they called home. By the time the crematoriums were running, Jews were no longer viewed as humans, but as vermin to be stamped out for the good of humanity.

Today, the election of Donald Trump to the Presidency has provoked the fascist Left to reject the election results. Taking a page from Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radials, in which Alinsky advised his followers in Rule 13 to "pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it," the Left is now resorting to the fascist tactics of targeting Conservatives much like the Nazis who targeted European Jewry for their economic and social ills. Conservatives and Trump supporters are reluctant to identify themselves and conceal their support for fear of a backlash from the Leftist elites.

Fascism has always been Leftist.

The German National Socialist Worker’s Party was the NAZI’s.

The left’s heads explode if you tell them that, but it is true. Has always been true.

>Sorry Sari, but there has been no descent whatsoever, they have been fascists the entire time. The Fascist Party of Italy was created by, and was comprised of, leftists.

Fascism is 3ed way socialism. Franco gave up Fascism in the 50s when it was clear it didn’t work and adopted capitalism. Pinochet was never a fascist just a Nationalist putting down a Communist rebellion and building his nation into a south American powerhouse by killing Communists, drug dealers, criminals, and unleashing the capitalist economy.

We’re all quite lucky that both Mussolini and Hitler where 3ed way socialists. If they’d been capitalists the economic power of both nations would have made beating them on Europe impossible.

I prefer calling them Marxists. Both Fascists and Bolsheviks followed Marx, though differently. For instance, Fascists permit private ownership of industry so long as the owner was loyal to the party. Agriculture, healthcare and state set prices of food and many goods was classic Marxism.

And, they both followed a rich Marxist tradition of killing each other in their quest for power. Socialists vs. Communist vs. Fascists, etc.etc. etc.

the demonization of Jews began in 1933 when Germany elected Adolf Hitler as Chancellor.

That is not entirely true. It started in the teen’s-20’s.
The Nazi would not have got as far as they did if the German citizens did not already harbor contempt for the Jews.
That is where we are at now in America. Simular to 20’s Germany. With the propaganda and dehumanizing of anyone who does not go along with the hard left.

Hitler’s exploitation of long standing traditions of Jew hatred helped propell Hitler into power. The others exterminated, political opponents, communists, gypsies, Russians and ethnic minorities were incidental to his consolation of power.

I know what Shari means, but antisemitism in Germany precedes the German state by at least a millennium. Under the Prussian kings Jews had slowly achieved near emancipation, a long, painful process, but the hatred was never very far under the surface and all it took was a Depression to bubble up.

Nevertheless, her point is sound. First the dehumanization, then the oppression, then the murder. It is as alarming to thinking conservatives in the U.S. today as it must have been for Jews in Germany in the late 20's to find that the people who you deal with everyday really would like to kill you and simultaneously consider themselves moral exemplars with no apparent sense of contradiction. Ideology has turned seamlessly into mental pathology and you can't reason with crazy people.

The line between communism and fascism is an economic quibble, and it's actually irrelevant to the discussion at hand. Both are totalitarian, both insist on a monopoly of force in the hands of the State, both are not only very capable of murdering individuals who are not desired to be of the State, but possess a very clear and well-established track record of doing so.

Eternal vigilance turns out not to be the price of liberty but the price of life itself. Stay armed.

Except that Bolshevism has been sanitized. Call someone a bolshevik and you might as well call them a “zoid moggle”, most people have no idea what you are talking about, and even if they do they have no connotation of their crimes.

“Fascism” does not suffer from this lack of popular understanding.

“Fascists are nationalists that reacted to social justice warriors. Bolshevism IS social justice”

Finally! Someone who knows the meaning of words!

I agree. Whenever I go to the Oregon newspaper to read about the Bundy trials, I read the comments left there by the psychos who apparently populate Portland and I think, “This is not just Leftism, it is Bolshevism.” Pure 100% evil. They would kill those ranchers if they could. Western ranchers are the new Kulaks.

“Hitler’s exploitation of long standing traditions of Jew hatred helped propell Hitler into power. The others exterminated, political opponents, communists, gypsies, Russians and ethnic minorities were incidental to his consolation of power.”

Like I said they don’t count (incidentals), evidently here either ... sad .. then there are the 100s of millions slaughtered by the Imperial Japanese, Stalin, and the King of Murder - Mao. They don’t count either, only the handful - relatively - of Jews A.S. took out on his way to glory and infamy.

With that discounting we are well on our way towards the Tyranny of Socialism ... and mass murder.

I can’t come up with any examples of Fascism coming into being where it wasn’t a reaction to the Left. The Left does what it does, the respectable folks accommodate or collaborate, and then the reaction happens. When the leftist mobs start rioting in the streets (again), it’s not going to be private security forces subduing them, it will be state power.

I didn’t say anything to discount the mass murder of Stalin and Mao, but the subject was Hitler. The Twentieth Century was bathed in blood, most spilled in socialist tyranny.

“He who controls the language controls the masses”. – Saul Alinsky in Rules for Radicals

It is incumbent upon us to insist that words have meaning and purpose. It is useless to attempt to communicate if we cannot agree on something as elementary as the terminology and serves as the primary reason why we are unable to debate the left any longer. Leftists who get their vision of the past from “History for Dummies” feeeeeel that Fascism is a phenomenon of the right. People on the right who actually read and study history know that Fascism was a product of the left.

Leftist dunderheads like the sound of of the term fascist.....even when they don’t know what it means. It has a connotation of malevolence and violence, even when they weren’t always. An even more accurate term for how the left is behaving post election is Sturmabteilung or stormtrooper AKA the Brownshirts.

The Brownshirts were the enforcement arm of the Nazi party, doing the dirty work that allowed the Nazi’s to maintain a degree of “plausible deniability”. Their behavior most closely resembles that of today’s loser dhimmicrats.

“The Twentieth Century was bathed in blood, most spilled in socialist tyranny.”

Murder count (historic):
Hitler: 20 million
Imperial Japan (estimate): 20 Million
Jopseh Stalin: 69 million plus
Mao Tse-Tsung: 150 million.

Socialism is as Socialism does - Hitler, nee Adolf Schicklgruber was a piker in the murder business. Using a piker to make a point about socialism is just wrong - does not matter about the so-called subject - which was to compare DJT to a mass murderer - A.S. was just the convenient ‘marker’ and a misleading one at that.

This Islamic religious war is on track for not just millions but billions slaughtered.

“even more accurate term for how the left is behaving post election is Sturmabteilung or stormtrooper AKA the Brownshirts”

Wrong.

These black bloc antifa are a carbon copy of Thalmann’s Red Fighting Front (Rotenfrontkampfverbunde) that ruled the streets in Weimar Berlin in the 1920s.

The SA comes next. Not quite yet, but soon.

Big difference- the European Jews didn’t have guns, and we know better than to try to reason with them.
