A similar stunt pulled by some poor guy in Detroit

That wasn't a "stunt" and I'm hoping it was just a poor choice of words.........

And it should be noted that in the article he just received a raise, from 10.55 an hour to $10.80. Not too many people would walk and bus 21 miles in winter for a minimum wage job.......

I'm cynical by default of anything with a GoFundMe account attached. Most of them seem like scams. Doesn't mean there aren't the occasional cases of true hardship and suffering and people who were genuinely helped by the donations they received.
