Obama is not dignifying the charge by responding directly. He sent out a surrogate to deny the allegation. The press is playing its role in condemning Trump.
A direct response from Obama at this time benefits Trump and does nothing for Obama. Plus weekends are the dead point in the weekly news cycle. The Democrats will spend the weekend developing a strategy and crafting talking points for the media. Monday they will come out swinging in lock step unlike the Republicans who will be timid in supporting Trump or calling for investigations. Obama anticipates Trump will be ground up by the Dems, the media and the week kneed RINO’s next week. Once his surrogates have done their work to establish the storyline, Obama will choose carefully the time to respond.
By not reacting quickly to “baseless” allegations, Obama also positions himself on the high road. Trump looks mean and nasty, Obama appears above the fray. Plus Obama implies Trump is not worthy of a response. After all, why would you respond to someone not fit for the office?
Psychological warfare is underway in to sway public opinion. Stay tuned.

Reminds me of GOP chasing its tail over “Who gave the stand down order on Benghazi?” The answer may well be that no one did as there was never a stand up or “go” order to begin with. Just avert your eyes and let them all die, including the 20-30 embassy personnel who the brave holdout Seals were protecting, and who were sworn to secrecy, forced to sign non-disclose document, hidden from Congress, never to be heard of again (for all we know they were liquidated).
TBH the last year the media has been very quiet on him. The election provided the perfect cover, while all this was going down they weren’t even paying attention to him. Probably deliberately. Do you remember hearing much about Obama during the election?
Of course now, journalists are just “doing their job”.
Again, if this is just an outrageous and ridicules allegation, why the need for crafting, strategy and talking points? No bueno.

The Press is not interested in Obama regarding the wiretapping charge — The Press is only interested in maligning DJT and nailing him to the wall. DJT must come up with some kind of evidence for a basis of this serious charge. DJT must act immediately. The longer this story lingers, the more negative credibility it gathers.
Then that means someone or others will have to take a fall for him. That could be very problematic for Mr. Private citizen Obamba.

Do you really think It's gona hit the fan? Please give me some hope. I don't think Trump will roll over. I think Trump has been letting them tighten the noose around their own necks. But are there enough men with integrity to take them all down?
Do you really think that the Press will approach Obama on this matter? They will probably offer their apologies to Obama for having publicized Trump’s wiretapping charge. The Press has already formed their own opinion.
More I think about it, this is was the tarmac meeting at Sky Harbor was about, not what Comey was doing with the investigation, but was the wiretap approved yet because HRC needed to know Trump’s swing state strategy.
