Check out Screen Junkies’ ‘Honest Trailer’ for the 2017 Oscar nominees on YouTube.

Stop paying for tickets at first run movies. You are feeding the Liberal Hollywood beast and contributing to the demise of our country.

The problem with both of them is they are not black enough to win any award. So I wouldn't bother with either one unless you are racist. :)

Kidding aside, I have seen La La Land. It is a nice musical and so makes for a nice afternoon or evening. I will leave it at that. Know nothing about Lion.

My dad saw “Lion” and said it was really good.

I saw LaLa Land and while it was perfectly OK, I think anyone would be far better off re-watching “An American In Paris” or “Singing In The Rain.”

Wife and I saw Lion, its pretty good but a bit slow at times(kinda like life, at least its accurate, not every moment is a cliff hanging adventure) ., at least its not a preachy diatribe from a left wing whiny POS, so , there is that going for it.

I’ll tell you what I think. Those movies are sitting on my shelf because we are members of SAG. They will remain on the shelf, unopened.

I really can’t compare Lion to Slumlord dog or whatever it was because I only saw Lion.

I liked Lion. It was an interesting story. The beginning was excellent....the middle is slow....the end was worth it all........I say watch it...why not...it’s only 2 hours and it is overall decent.

La La Land relies on autotune because the main cast members cannot sing, so if that turns you off, I’d skip it.

Personally, I can’t fathom why they would use autotune in a musical instead of just casting actors that can sing, because there are plenty of them out there.

They are not worth paying to see. Defund. If they come on a television near you at no additional cost, watch away.

I would never contribute one cent towards that crowd. It would be akin to handing money to someone who spat on me.

I liked La La Land. And I think it shines a light on Hollywood people. And the picture is not too pretty. The reality is that people who go off to LA to become a star, are not like the rest of us. They trade their family and marriage for fame. Its really why the people there are all so screwed up. La La Land does a good job letting you understand the choices people make. And what they give up to be famous.

The movie is entertaining. My wife and child thought it was too long. I didn’t. The singing and dancing have been brought down to the level of the stars ability. These people are not Fred Astaire, nor are they Judy Garland. But the songs are good. And the movie is very stylish, sometimes in very clever ways. The Oscars La La Land won for their production quality, like Best Cinematography were well deserved.
