To their credit the actors on The Middle have long been playing characters younger than they are.

The actors playing Axl and Sue were both in their early 20’s portraying teenagers. Patricia Heaton is 58.

The actress who plays Sue had angst-ridden 13-year old girl
absolutely NAILED!

Only one we watched was Bones and looks like it won’t be back. Used to watch NCIS until they had Wookie on as a guest and NCIS:New Orleans until they ended one of their shows with one gal kissing another. Spend most of our minimal TV time watching re-runs of Law and Order, Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods on ION or the Justice Channel.

I think it’s almost as much geared toward boomers. There are ongoing storylines about the triplets’ parents and connections drawn between what happened to them and what is happening to their adult children.

Never heard of half of those shows.

NCIS is ok but about lost interest this season.

After giving NCIS New Orleans a second chance, they lost this viewer permanently at the lesbo kiss with the new agent.

I too watched Artow and The Flash briefly, then gave up. Too many 120 pound women throwing full grown men around.

Sometimes it’s surprising. Actors playing roles that are 10-12 years younger are common. And plenty of examples of 15 years younger.

Sometimes such roles are just stupid. See Babs Streisand in Yentl.

“Too many 120 pound women throwing full grown men around.”

Yeah, that bothers me about a lot of action shows. I prefer watching women being portrayed as women.

They did choose well on the actors for this show. Even the youngest Brick, is 18, playing 16 and could still play a younger role. The 5 o'clock shadow gives him away sometimes though.

The sibling rivalry, the timing of the banter and insults, is pretty well written. In the end, they don't really mean it and stick together when it's really important. It kind of reminds me of my siblings and I growing up.

Maybe Frankie will become a grandma before the series is over. I can only imagine how she'll freak realizing she has become a grandma. Patricia Heaton does a great job in that role.

Or Howard Stern breaking the Third Wall and saying “I know what you’re thinking. That guy’s too old to be a college student. Well this is MY movie, so you’ll just have to deal with it!”

Yes, Heaton is that rare talent who is able to pull off TWO long-running successful sitcoms in their career.

Most of ‘em crash and burn after the first.

That is true. Sometime next season The Middle will surpass the 210 episodes that Everybody Loves Raymond ran. Very impressive for Patricia Heaton. Plus, she is a very good outspoken conservative.

“24” itself (”Legacy”) should be cancelled. It is simply horrible. Terrible, inept, unbelievable ‘hero,’ disgracefully insulting plotline to veterans, racist smears against Whites. KILL IT, Fox!

Ah, the Internet.... I pay for general bandwidth, but pay nothing for content. No commercials. No scheduling....

Used to watch Bones. But have not bothered for years.

NCIS we still watch on demand.

I will miss Grimm. Not a homosexual to be seen. And the bad guys are REALLY bad. No whining about their childhoods. You cheer when they die. Which they usually do.

They should cancel CBS “This Morning” - terrible and predicable, 24/7 anti-Trump reports and fake news.

There was one episode on “The Middle” some years ago where Frankie (Patricia Heaton) comes home from work, announces “I made dinner!” and then throws some bags of fast food on the kitchen table.

I love Supernatural too. Jensen Ackles is just too darn cute. I don’t watch it on the network though. I watch it from one of my streaming sites.

Yeah, that was pretty good. One of my favorite episodes is when Frankie and Mike took the kids to a drive-in theater. The kids absolutely had no clue what it was and Axl tried to order food through the speakers. When Frankie tried to explain to Axl, Mike said Axl will figure it out when the food never comes, LOL.

That was also when the kids were trying to figure out who was the parent's favorite kid and Brick found out he was a mistake as his name for the first two months was Baby Ooops. Very will written lines and deliveries by the actors in this show.

I like it and it hasn’t lost its quality, but it is a show that probably needs to wrap up soon. I’m just glad Sue didn’t descend into liberalism as she seemed to be close to doing when dating that tree-hugging douche.
