I love FR, Jim, and all of you guys.
I am a faithful monthly contributor
But FR is so incredibly slow to load.
Is it my IP or is it my alternative reality?
I have a very fast internet service but FR is the slowest site to download.
Perhaps I am not logged in...
Yeah, FR is slow as heck for me most of time. More specifically, FR is slow to START LOADING a page. When I click on a FR link, I will get that spinning wheel for a long time, then once it starts loading it usually goes pretty fast.
For me, it’s been sloooow since it came back from the lengthy outage.
Slow in Opera\IE\EDGE\Chrome\Opera(has a chrome engine)
I’ve turned off loading images. Helps a bit.
You need to upgrade to Free Republic Prime. It cost a little more but is sooo worth it. Since I’ve been a Prime member my snarky posts upload so quick. My sarcasm is blazing fast. And my wit . . . well let’s not talk about that.
We can sugar coat it all day but this site is slow to a crawl
Mail opens sometimes. Threads for 15 seconds to 4 minutes to load , that is an has been a fact, who did not see the last crash coming, Is it better than last week or yesterday,nope

Same here- i think the site was moved to a new server if memory serves me right? Ever sicne then the site has been very very slow- I have to keep refreshing every article i click on just to get the article and all the comments to load— heaven forbid there is a 50-100 page too- as that wil ltake forever to load as well

Been slow ever since the great inauguration crash.
Loads very quickly with my Verizon 100/100...
I have no idea what’s been done, server-wise but it’s been like this since the crash before the inauguration crash.
I’ve gotten to the “it is what it is” point.

Folks seem to think that the money Jim asks for is a lot but when it comes to handling so many folks while being a good steward of their money, I would imagine there are obstacles to overcome that most sites don't have. I worked developing courses for secure communications and can tell you that the equipment is expensive and System Admins live in a world where threats/challenges change several times a day.
Who’s DNS servers are you using? (Makes a big difference in initial response time).
