A cobra's deadly venom is being used to heal chronic aches and pains.

It's a toxin turned treatment that can be used by both pets and people.
They are not the friendliest creatures. And they can be intimidating...
"Right now I'm removing a cobra from its cage," says herpetologist and venom supplier Tom Crutchfield. "This is the cobras' keep for the venom line for the pharmaceutical company Nutria Pharma."
....but Crutchfield says there's really no need to be afraid of this potentially deadly snake.
"I always knew they were special even as a kid," Crutchfield said. "Because when I was a kid, everybody hated snakes."

"The biodiversity on this planet never ceases to amaze me," Crutchfield said. "And the more we look, the more we find. The more medicines we find when we look at venoms and poisons and things like that. Its amazing."
The venom is taken to this Nutra Pharma lab, where it undergoes a process converting from fluid to powder.
Its sold and marketed as nyloxin.
"All the principle work has been in humans," says Nutra Pharma CEO Rik Deitsch. :So the nyoxen product is amazing. It's non addictive, no opiate non-narcotic. In the last model, it outperformed morphine. It lasted six hours longer than morphine without any of the side effects."
Rik says the extracted venom is good for pets, too. It's sold at Pet Pain Away.
"The problem with pain medication for dogs and cats is there aren't a lot of choices," Rik said.
The product comes as a spray and topical. The company says it has three patents on this specific healing formula.
"We really are dedicated to treating pain in a different way," Rik said.
Nutra Pharma says there are 46 published clinical studies about the product.
Nyloxin and Pet Pain Away are all natural and can also be used for auto immune diseases, viruses and pain.
Everytime they milk a cobra, it makes 100 bottles of product.
Why not? Bee Venom has been used for years to treat arthritis pain & it is very similar to snake venom. My Dad used it with good results.
What happens if James Carville bites you?
Pain cured, forever.
Guess it worked for Mary.....
Yeeeeeeech!
this pain treatment will just be another add on.....
A bullet to the brain stops the pain also and easier to find than a Cobra.

I’ll never understand what happened to Mary.
Actually, the overwhelming majority of patients with chronic pain that use narcotics under a legitimate doctor’s supervision use them responsibly and would love an alternative that actually works.
I just discovered a copperhead nest in my back yard. Anyone want to come over an catch them? Who knows, it might work with their venom as well.
If they could ID the gene sequence responsible for the toxin they might be able to ligate the sequence into a strain of E. Coli, which would then excrete the toxin.
You could harvest maybe 5 kgs from a big enough cell culture run, maybe from 10,000 liters.
That’s an extremely ball-park figure, but it would be much better than snakes.
A cobra once bit Chuck Norris in the leg. After five days of excruciating pain, the cobra died.
So Pelosi’s spit is worth something?
Cobra venom is obviously expensive and certainly not widely available. Bee venom is free or inexpensive depending upon the source. Strength of the honey bee venom depends upon how old the bee is, its health and how long the bees stinger is embedded in the skin. Bees on the front of the hive are the youngest (bees generally live five to six weeks).
Honey bee venom is almost miraculous for those with multiple sclerosis. Bee venom works wonders for arthritis and a host of other issues as your Father learned.
Yes, all 1.33 million of us. Pain meds shut the bowel down eventually. And when you have Gastropresis very slow digestion, no digestion of fiber, that is a NO GO.
I’ve Peripheral Neuropathy from a totally degenerative spine and Fibromyalgia, OA/OP. Can’t take the OA/OP drugs, I react to them to badly with ER trips for Gastro and A-Fib incidents. 20 Mg of Valium per day was all that brought the level 10 pain down to a 5. Neurologist went through the usual Lyrica, Neurotin, Cymbalta, 8 failures, 9th was Keppra 500 Mg twice a day, but it takes both the 20 Mg Valium and Keppra to keep the pain down to a 3, 4 when it’s cold and humid. I’ll never be out of pain, I’m only 68 and have lived with the high level pain since my 40’s when the spinal damage was done.
Lyrica, Neurotin, 1 pill sends me to the ER with A-Fib. Both are on the DEA restriction list and are MORE addictive than NORCO. Lots more side effects too.
Doctors are cutting opioids, even if it harms patients
