Poor little rich girl. The youngest person ever to win the lottery in Britain wants to sue the jackpot honchos who made her wealthy because the dough “ruined her life,” according to a report. Jane Park, 21 — who won $1.25 million playing Euromillions at age 17 — says she was too young to cope with the sudden flood of wealth, according to the UK Mirror. “At times it feels like winning the lottery has ruined my life. I thought it would make it 10 times better but it’s made it 10 times worse,” she moaned to the paper.

Nope single. Not even dating. Damn ! Another Valentines Day and I forgot to get myself a girlfriend again this year !

Truthfully the woman I am in love with went and married someone else. But her record of staying married in about 3 years...So i'm hanging in there.

Someday she will figure out she's married to the wrong one.

Aw, that has to sting. But you seem like you are handling it well. Patiently waiting, knowing your turn will be coming. I like that. Good luck. That’s how you get the girl. And don’t buy her boobs since that doesn’t work out so well, apparently!

310 million annuity, 189 million cash before taxes, of which the Fed cut is 25% before any payout, likely another 14% to the IRS by next tax filing, state taxes if applicable—and that’s just the government vultures.

Dodging abductions, ransom demands, those looking up genealogical connections, fortune seeking law-fare, et cetera is part of the winnings. Some states insist on divulging way too much identity info—one must take serious measures early in this game to avoid becoming nothing more than a target. Am always amazed that so many big winners tootle out in front of the cameras oblivious to the abrupt changes that come about as a consequence of the publicity.

>> Becoming very rich

I guess that depends on how the wealth was acquired.

That’s definitely a worthwhile plan. I’d love to take a series of trade classes, in several areas, to increase my handiness. Not so much to look for ways to increase of income, but to save money by being able to do more myself and pass on those skills to my children, so they can save money over a lifetime while pursuing their careers.

That’s why Reparations for slavery won’t work, the money will be right back in the hands of white folks before no time.

It appears she has run out of money. She doesn't have the money to buy enough fabric to cover her rather ample bosom

It takes dollars to maintain hospitals, which may not be viable over the long haul. However, one thing that interests me is being able to start up businesses and make them viable, then sell that business to somebody who may not have the means to start their own business. They could keep buying into it, while learning how to run one, until they own about 95% of it. I’d keep about 5% as way to keep my hand in it to ensure it’s viability. At some point, I would have 100% of an income, from having opened a bunch of businesses and keeping a small hand in each one.

Pro teams definitely advice young athletes get good financial advice.

A lot of good managers will make athletes or entertainers sign off on their spending habits before authorizing any money so the athletes and entertainers know exactly what they are doing, so they can’t complain later about having been ill advised.

I read about her. Her family kept clawing into her to get money, until she had nothing. She should have moved when she won.

The best thing to do, at that age and that money, is maximize your pension contributions and leave the money sit and accumulate while you work and only draw a little bit more than your income to live a step up from your current circumstances.

I’ve been told by a lottery expert, who makes part of his living advising lottery winners, to change your name before you cash the ticket and wear a disguise that makes you look different than what you normally look like. Like glasses and a hat.

You can always change your name back after claiming your prize.

She's 17 yrs old.....$1.25 million was the gross. I'd gather the net was much smaller.

If she lives another 50 years...and let's say the net was $1 million...

That's nothing much to "live" on....per year.

It would have been enough to bump up her lifestyle by one step. A little better neighbourhood or getting a small car.

An awful lot of it was her own stupidity, and her loser husband’s drinking and drugs.

Actually, my nephew met her shortly after she won the money. He worked at Future Shop at the time and she struck up a conversation with him while she was purchasing high end appliances. My nephew always was a pretty smart guy (he works for a California tech company, but up here in Ontario, and makes loads of money) and Sharon hired him to manage her Cadillac Escapade. Not sure of the name...is it Escapade or Escalade?

She had this Escapade constantly being redone and she put it in shows. She named it after Babyphat, or whatever that stupid name brand is. It was always being repainted, redone, etc. She had Dave (my nephew) purchase hundreds of Babyphat purses so that they could be pulled apart and then reworked into custom seats. Dave had x boxes or whatever they are installed in the backs of the front seats. He was always doing something with that Escapade. Absolutely nuts, but she wanted someone to do it and he did enjoy it because it was such an outrageous project, and money was no object if he wanted to do something.

Sharon would also ask Dave’s girlfriend to babysit for a few hours and insist on paying her $1200.00. She sent people on trips. She blew through much of that money herself.

The lottery is the Euromillions. No taxes on it in Britain.

Invest it in index funds and take out 4% per year to live on. $50,000 a year is plenty to live on and you still have the principle.

The average family income in Britain is $33,000.

If she wants more money per year, work at something.

The world would be her oyster because she would be financially independent.

The problem is she has been brainwashed to think that expensive toys and expensive vacations will make her happy, when they have little positive effect and some negative effects.
