No-one likes being mistaken for someone else - especially if that someone else has been their sworn rival for more than a century.
So when Guns N' Roses yelled "Hello, Sydney" as they walked on stage in Melbourne, they were unsurprisingly met with a chorus of boos.
And to make matters worse, the veteran rockers weren't even on time.
Luckily, it seems they made up for it with a rousing concert - and a swiftly issued apology on social media.

You have to feed Axl before he goes on stage or else he gets confused.

On the back of your guitar or bass, there should be masking tape with the name of the venue you are playing and the name of the town.
Yes, I did that.

One of my bands would do that from time to time. Yell a different city’s name. But we did it on purpose. We could. We were a local act.

Once again the BBC has got it wrong. A friend of Axl’s by the name of Sydney happened to be in the audience.

Worst singer in the history of modern pop music. I won’t call GNR rock or rock and roll.

I saw them last year at Coachella. Axl actually said “where the F are we, is this Woodstock?” on stage. I guess the Aussies didn;t get the joke.

My first show ever was GNR Metallica. GNR followed Metallica for 1.5 hrs. That’s who they are.
and being from vancouver, at least they showed up unlike the Riots i witnessed when I a little older in 96 when they didn’t show up.
