Author and radio host Dennis Prager spoke about his keys to happiness and goodness. He spoke at the 2017 Rancho Mirage Writers Festival in Rancho Mirage, California.(Video at source link)
I caught this speech on C-Span last night, and was impressed - interested and edified.Prager doesnt explicitly make the connection, but it is strongly implicit that his discussion explains why liberals tend to be unhappy. And I have been somewhat concerned that lately the liberals have succeeded in one thing - inducing some conservatives to sound unhappy, reflecting the unhappiness of the rioters.
We gotta watch out for that, IMHO. I hope and expect that many will enjoy this, particularly those who missed the C-Span broadcast last night. I do have to caution that it is, I dont know, 45 minutes long - or more. But entertaining as well as edifying. The five-minute Cliff Notes version is found at Prager University, here. If you have time for the longer version, I recommend it in preference.
His book on the subject is
- Happiness Is a Serious Problem:
- A Human Nature Repair Manual
bump
Dennis Prager’s “Happiness Hour” is also a good thing to listen to.
Prager is an intellectual conservative. It’s easy to listen to him and follow his thinking. I always learn something when listening to him.
Excellent talk - recorded it for my wife to catch when she gets a chance - “Very few people care about how you feel - only how you behave” - “Little Dennis Prager isn’t in the mood for afternoon prayers....hmmmm....so what” - LOL....

I just found a different video by Prager on the same topic, but given a decade ago when the book was first published:

His PragerU videos on his website and Youtube are a good resource. Ironically, he’s getting de facto censored as conservative, but much of the content is still available if you log in as over 18.
