Back in the ‘love in’ days, city police were always ‘upset’ at the young girls who would come straight from the small town or farm to DC and decide to live in the ‘areas’ where they could be of the most ‘good’.
Didn’t take a whole lot of rapes or assaults or break ins to ‘convince’ Americas Daughters to get the hell out of Dodge.
My ex was one of those ‘town girls’ who came to DC to work for the Government in 1960....They were put up in hotels (hostels) with no men above the lobby, curfews etc etc etc. When they could ‘afford it’, they would move out into the suburbs.
Can’t quite picture all those restrictions today, the ‘girls’ would not stand for it YET, they welcome the troglodytes with open arms....ONCE....
