I hope he didn’t die in “The Heat of the Moment”.
Sorry.
Lark’s Tongue in Aspic, King Crimson, one of the greatest albums of the era; he does vocals.
I never would have thought this in my wildest dreams...
ROFL!! Well, “Only Time Will Tell” if his songs will be remembered.
Epitaph by king crimson
King Crimson was a bit before my time, but I love ELP, and found that song when Greg Lake died.
Was at the right age to see yes and king crimson together...wow..elp...awesome
Being a young lad at 21 when it came out , and despite the fact I was a drummer and music lover , I really didn’t GET this record . I haven’t heard it since so perhaps I ought to revisit it with much more mature ears soon ...
Back in the late sixties and early seventies rock and roll became ‘ rock’. Lots of great stuff back then. But with volume comes mediocrity, too. I considered the groups that this guy played with amongst those.
Just my $0.02.
I saw Yes in the later years (early 80’s) and ELP in 1992(?) for their Black Moon tour. I was leery of hearing Lake’s voice after watching an ASIA thing on TV - but he sounded great - and they all were spot on.
My favorite group (Rush) will be introducing Yes into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year - finally!
"Lark's Tongue in Aspic"
Saw ELP open for Jethro Tull, one year.
The next year, they had Procul Harum.
Fantastic album. I saw KC once back in the day.

Yes was amazing live. Just amazing.

ELP made their American debut at my college, unfortunately the year before I got there but I had a friend who was there at the time. They played at the gymnasium to a crowd of less than 100 people.
It is strange that, Wetton and Greg Lake sang in the same bands when the other was working on a different project with the other's group. They both sounded alike and were often confused for one another. Both died in the last month or so.
“Epitaph” was on “In The Court Of The Crimson King,” King Crimson’s first album, and was sung by Greg Lake (who, sadly enough, died on December 7th). John Wetton was KC’s lead singer on “Lark’s Tongues In Aspic,” “Starless And Bible Black,” “Red” and “U.S.A.” (a live album), but he was also the lead singer in Asia and a bunch of other bands.
When I saw ELP on their Black Moon tour it was in a little theater in Allentown, PA - I’m guessing it held maybe 400 people. The concert would start and stop for about 45 minutes. They kept blowing the electrical for the entire block!
A bunch of older folks sitting there - so no rioting!
