” so many millions of Americans are not covered.

That is INEXCUSABLE.”

They should have the OPTION of being covered. But not forced.

The best way to ensure a myriad of options where adults can pick the plan best suited for them is. . .
\
the free market. Competition.

“Regulations” like health regulations, making sure medicine is not shady, are fine. Like restaurant health codes - fine. But we aren’t all taxed to make people go to restaurants. We can go, or not, choose the one that best suits us. . . government not involved.

Trump asking them to step down from the bench NOW in favor of younger replacements?

Not considered CRICKET, sir.

I hope it won’t happen.

Let’s get Scalia replaced.

Thomas might decide on his own, don’t know yet.

John Roberts isn’t as much an age issue as he is an apparently compromised Chief Justice.

Kennedy would be incensed if asked and it might cause some to cling even more firmly to their Robes out of pride and stubbornness.

I would be OK with every American having a major medical policy. $10,000 deductible.
Then allow the free market work the rest. I do not necessarily agree with it, but trying to be realistic.

extremely unlikely this plan is endorsed by anyone in the GOP except Collins and Bill Cassidy (the MD, who btw is another GOP Senator, not House member), not to mention this isn’t “breaking”, as these two announced this a week ago:

http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/314724-gop-senators-introducing-obamacare-replacement-monday

The GOP is slated to meet on 1/27/2017 in Philadelphia to try to hash out the outline of the obamacare replacement.

President Trump and others in the GOP leadership have said they can’t rush a repeal/replacement and end up with a worse mess than obamacare, because among other things they’ll lose big time during the next election after all the promises they made.

My guess is the Collins/Cassidy “introduction”, if it even happens given the McConnell controls the bills before the Senate, is nothing more than a publicity stunt and/or a deliberate attempt to muddy the waters and hurt President Trump. Collins is the ultimate RINO/GOPe, and Cassidy seemed perfectly happy to “work with Hillary”, whom he expected to beat President Trump:

Agree ! Gov’t ought to stay out of health care, and about everything else, except providing common defense. Period.

I wasn’t born to toil for someone else’s medical bills.

Maybe a slave on some plantation was born for such purposes, back in 1850.

IIRC, the nazis managed health care for some of their jewish citizens. Universal and single payer.

We’ve had no coverage and coverage the last 8 looooong years. With coverage, an office visit with a primary care doctor comes to $118 charged by the provider on the EOB (Explanation of Benefits). Then it has a discount amount of $43, the insurance then pays $65 and the copay is $10. A self-pay office visit with the same primary care doctor cost $59.14 which was calculated after a self-pay discount and paying at time of visit.

Insurance never has made sense to me.

Just this past August, I had to go to the ER, bad dizzy spell. I was there for less than 24 hours even though I stayed overnight. The bill for hospital, tests and doctors is over $22K. Did not have coverage, yay! Did not qualify for any state assistance but had to apply and be rejected in order to then apply through the hospital itself for a catastrophic discount, which I did get approved for. That dropped the hospital portion of the bill, $17K+, down to $11K+, not that I have either growing on the trees in my yard.

The woman I dealt with said to send my catastrophic approval letter to the rest of the bills and they might write them off. Haven’t done it as of yet, life got in the way when my husband had 2 mini-strokes in early December. Luckily we got our coverage back December 1st, but it will probably be gone again February 28th of this year. Husband is plagued with lay offs from his union tile job and you have to work X amount of hours to maintain coverage. We had no coverage for 9 months of last year..hoping Trump’s Executive Order is retroactive for last years insane O’Shitcare fines, $695 PER PERSON, PER MONTH!

I hope the replacement will be freedom - the free market. My bet is that it will be a much smaller regime of restrictions, hopefully including just the most popular elements of Obamacare, plus the right to do business across state lines.

I don’t care if it is cricket or earth worms. My suggestion was for the protection of the court in the future. Nothing, absolutely nothing is written in stone. President Trump has four years guaranteed. Who knows about the next election. Nobody that’s who. The wishy washy way this country goes up and down, up and down, who knows how people in the states he won that the republicans usually lose will vote next time, IE: Penn, Wisconsin, etc. Those won the election for him. Lose them next time and he does not win. Thus, right NOW is our time to solidify the Supreme Court for the next 25-30 years. Four younger replacements of good health and smarts, and then if just one of the four commies or Kennedy steps down, Trump can put in the 5th conservative Constitutional believing replacement justice, and we control it for the rest of my life time and most here. Cricket or not, even the greatest football and baseball players, doctors and lawyers, all step down because of age, etc. So, you go play cricket, I will pray that a positive, while the chance is here, happens. That is my reasoning for these replacements. I love Justice Thomas. A good man. Went through hell to get into the chair, all kinds of stinking sex charges against him by that woman, who by the way we never hear a damned thing about anymore, she was used for the moment, but he is getting very old and has health issues. I would truly hate to see us lose the WH in the next election and then two or three on our side had to step down and the commies get the court forever. Cricket courts open at 10, enjoy your game.
