I side with the dog on this one.
Say hello to my little teeth!
I never trust these dogs even if someone says they are the most gentle and docile animals. There is no other breed of dog I’ve known that if they don’t know you they freeze and give you that dead eye look as if to say, “make any sudden movements and you’re dead!” A friend of mine had one and once I got to know it it seemed ok, but even still that took 20 minutes before he would be ok with ME. Every time I would come over his house, it would take that 20 minutes to pass his acceptance and if I didn’t see them for a few weeks it was like I was meeting the dog for the very first time all over again. The more scared I was made the dog more likely to bite so I had to pretend to be his friend. I still am lucky to have never been mauled by that dog.
The dog may be a menace to society, but at least he has good fashion sense.
Darwin award.
If Aunt Clara had been there, the dog would have mauled the entire neighborhood.
I love pitbulls. They are sweet and loving and loyal as hell, if not raised and trained by idiots who prep them for the pit.
Nobody puts Scarface in a sweater!
The car was great but when it was time to return it the hotel guy said "you can't bring it back here, youhave to take it to this address where my brother will take it and bring you back." Fine, I went. When I got there it was a pretty rough area and two massive pit bulls came zooming out at me, fangs bared and frothing at the mouths. We were separated by a chain link fence so I was safe but rattled as these dogs clearly wanted to tear me to pieces. A man on the porch asked who I was and I said "Claude sent me to return this car" and he replied "oh, I've been expecting you! come in, don't worry about the dogs, they are harmless. Vicious, Killer, calm down!" Somehow I wasn't calmed by they news that the dogs names were Vicious and Killer. I waited for him to come to me instead.
When you name your dog something like Vicious or Killer or Scarface, well, you might have an inkling that they have some "mean" in them. Just sayin.
Again, people are hurt because they think the animal should act according to the humans’ fantasies, and not according to the animals’ nature.
I’m a dog lover but always stay away from pit bulls. No matter how lovingly raised they have the potential to be triggered for no apparent reason. And when they attack it is not a dog bite but sustained, go-for-the-kill, attack.
Some days yer a cute puppy and the next day yer a grenade ...... all about their environment not the breed itself.
Silly me....I’m apt to blame the doggy parents who would put a sweater on a dog.
Another moderate pit bull.
” ... Authorities were eventually able to be captured with use of a catch pole.
I wonder if we could use a catch pole on ovomit?
Saw a piece recently whereby a study shows Chihuahuas, Dachshunds and Jack Russells to be the most violent.
Pit Bulls were well down the list.
ANY dog (even cats in some cases) can be dangerous.
Pit Bulls get a bad rap. It’s not the breed, per se. More Pit Bulls than any other breeds are raised and trained to be fight dogs.
Some of these dogs may never be suitable as pets. MANY STILL ARE!
It’s the individual dog, period.
Of course, dog breeds do have particular traits to their breeds. Hunting dogs, for example.
Being just plain “mean” isn’t one of them.
