Yup,, they KNEW where earth would be millions and millions of years ago and pointed their transmitters accordingly.
Or, they are using an omnidirectional transmission, requiring a couple of quasar power sources.

The region where the signals are coming from, dubbed FRB 121102 by scientists, is located about 3 billion light years away from earth.Which means they would have sent the signals 3 billions years ago which would mean they are long extinct, and that's if intelligent life could even evolve in so short a time after the big bang. 3 billion years ago the only life on earth was bacterial sludge. On the other hand, bacterial sludge is what is running the White house today.
