"It's so nice to know their are still amazing people in this world. Santa was bringing a Range Rover for our son for Christmas but his mother had to take it one step further and have it delivered on the back of a tow truck. Crazy yes. Impossible let No!! After posting on a local pay it forward page that we were looking for a tow truck driver who may be able to fulfill our request early Christmas morning. It was only minutes later we had a reply from Craig who owns Hop tow it who was more than willing to do this strange request. Not only was he willing to give up his Christmas morning, he came in the heat dressed as Santa. Word cannot express how great full we are for him helping us make Adam's Christmas as magical as possible. Such a generous and selfless and inspirationl man. We cannot thank him enough!"
“Its always nice to have a tow truck on call when dealing with British vehicles.”
Thirty years ago, I believe all new British sports cars sold in the U.S. included a personal mechanic for each one sold here.
A buddy of mine got a spectacular used one last year and... brought it out to the ranch :-). This was the second time he’d brought an all wheel drive car out with pretty well used tire’s and ended up going home with 4 new, since you can’t put one new tire on an AWD vehicle. Plus side was he saved about $700 over buying them in NorCal.
The vehicle is awesome, but realizing there is a hard drive in its computer system that will punish you if it fails would be a definite drawback for me.
Even comes with full wiring harness smoke!
I was young so I guess I never noticed, LOL.
I agree. I've got a 2006 Rover with more than 160,000 miles on it. It's not the best vehicle I've ever had, but it's by no means the worst (that would be a Volkswagen.) Maintained properly, they are good reliable vehicles, and nice to drive.
That’s so cute
Made me smile....
As former owner of half dozen range rovers from the old Spartan decent models to the new bling ethnic enhanced models
Do not buy a post 1970s Rover product except the series models...the rough paneled ones
Hit link....learn
It’s more than just lucas
You didn’t hit the link
Just wait.....
I can see you are familiar with RR reliability!
I passed one on the highway Saturday. Surprising. He was in the slow lane where he belonged. I commented to my wife that it looked like a death trap by modern standards.
You’re one in a million partner ifnis you ain’t lying
I’ve owned two Series models....fair enough but expensive and rough and ready......I wish I still had them...if they were American they’d be Willys or Scout
Also a 90 and a 110.....the 110 much better vehicle
Then three Range Rover Classics....two were olive green County models and one was black
Two mid 90s Land Rover Discoveries.....one forest green/saddle the other white/saddle with facing jump seats
Next up 1997 Range Rover SE.....BLACK ON BLACK
Lastly 2003 Range Rover HSE.....SILVER ON GRAY....GRAY IS RARE
The old Series was a Jamaican model and the 110 was Colombian
Which is where my romance for them began....Colombia was land cruisers and Range Rover and monteros in my day.....loved em....I drove a 110 from Panama to Houston and back during the Sandies
Range Rover Classics...you expect some prissy blonde aristocrat naked in her wellies driving it with a Burberry scarf...boobies bouncing seeking a nice tea....lol....Mick on the hood
Junk otherwise but best looking car they ever made
Discoveries less attractive slightly more reliable junk
SE...more expensive junk
HSE...This is where the negro thug or rich chav look started...bling bling......I hate it
Pluses on range rovers
Leather interior is cousin to Rolls and Bentley...it smells like butter leather forever....especially the Classic models ...incredibly supple
Styling up to the bling era is great and utilitarian
Off road capabilities...much better on the old models but the newer models pale compared to a Land Cruiser..sorry
Girls love em..like cocaine or Neiman Marcus ...can You put a price on that utility ....not if you’re fat and bald and lonely...buy her one in that case and hurry to it ....def worth it in that case but she better look like Emily Blunt or Kate Beckinsdale or the Mother of Dragons
Downside
Electrical....they say it’s better....it used to be horrible
Reliability. ....F minus.....only car I ever owned worse was a Alfa Romeo Milano Verde....fun when it ran though...recaro seats standard.
Price to repair brake pads.....300 to 400 a whee or more if rotors bad too
A Honda Pilot is 226 all round plus labor....Range Rover 1200 minimum....just pad replacement....parts are double at least and mechanic..125/hr at Andrews Nashville
Just for comparison the Beechcraft FBO ..used to be Stevens...here in Nashville Commercial airport charges 75/hr broken down from bulk service
That’s for King Air propjets and Hawker corporate jets
Do I need to keep going after that alone....
It’s a pity cause they still make the good Spartan stuff for primitive markets
for the money buy a Toyota Land Cruiser...it’s the 24 carat gold standard of luxury real off road....no matter the model going back to the FJ60s in mid 70a.....and the old FJ 40...look what they bring today
No they aren’t ES
BUT THEY ARE STILL A PROBLEM
AND HAVE BEEN SINCE THEY WENT LUXURY BASICALLY
80s
China sells counterfeit Range Rover knockoffs illegally to keep uber materialistic Chinese soccer moms content

“Id love to have one. Wife wants an old Beetle, shell probably win out.”
My dad kept one as a second car when I was growing up. Think it was about a 1960 model or there abouts, while a simple and durable car it required lots of frequent maintainence; plugs and points, brake adjustments, valve train adjustments, Heater and defroster never worked right, graphite throw-out bearing wore quickly. So, be prepared to spend about one weekend per month tinkering around on this car. Good luck!
You forgot the reason that British drink warm beer. Because they all have Lucas refrigerators.
Why do the British drink warm beer? They have Lucas refrigerators.
The Lucas factory motto is "A good day's work and home before dark".
Pada bada bum, tsssh
16 years old and not a spot of rust anywhere on the Rover. A 16 year old Land Cruiser drips rust anywhere it is parked for more than a few hours.
Labor is the same for any piece of equipment, it is the business that sets the price. Go to a shop that serves crumpets in the waiting room and has a chandelier in the main hall, and prices will be high.
Us poor boys have to stick with FJ80’s .....:o)
