I've been having problems loading pages on Freerepublic for over a week. I thought it was just my connection (I live in the sticks and use a my-fi ATT hotspot for all my internet.

However, I have the exact same problem at my work computer in downtown Louisville on a high speed corporate network.

The problem manifests itself at least two ways: 1. Pages take so long to load that they timeout and I get a "page reset" message. 2. A partial page loads (often just the first line or two) and then eventually the rest starts showing up in chunks.

Nothing else on the internet in either location hs having any such (or similar) problem.

On a side note. If I log out and just view anonymously, I get to see the first part of the article under the title. But when I log in, I only see titles. This became the default a couple of months ago and when I go to the page to change my settings, no option is given to do so. Just a bunch of darkly colored horizontal bars that look like "partially loaded" buttons with no label.

Anybody else having these problems

It’s been slow and had little issues since it went out completely a couple of weeks ago. I can’t remember the issue but it was down for a day or two. Hasn’t been the same since.

Buckeye McFrog :" Yeah the page loading has been a little wonky for a few days.
I presumed it was some sort of a glitch out at the server farm."

I have experienced the same wonky behavior.
I have even gone to full reboot after clearing my cache, and the issue remains when I return.
It seems to have occurred after last weeks loading failure
It seemes to be even more noticeable when going into FReepmail.

Yes, it’s been a bit wonky ever since the hardware failure and recovery a couple weeks back. If we see it, then Jim and John certainly do - and it’s just as certain they’ll identify the issue and correct it as soon and as best as they’re able.

If it becomes untenable, walk away from your PC for a while, and take the opportunity to be with your loved ones.

Merry Christmas fellow Freepers!

I’m not having any problems but I limited the sidebar a long time ago and never put it back.

I believe I can provide you with a gen-you-wine sporkweasel approved solution to keep your Berber stuned and your account logged on at a high speed.

I have been fighting a trojan for weeks ...
Are you using a router? A few years ago I had a bug I just couldn't get rid of. Long story short - I finally reset my router (press the reset button on the back of the router), and then reset the router password (via the router software). Bingo - problem solved.

Yep. I can be on page three of a four page thread and click on “Post Reply” only to have it go all the way back to the first post on page one.

I just keep going at it until I get what I want ;’}

I have been having the same problem here in Virginia and I use FIOS. It started after FR went down that one day a couple of weeks ago.
