If youre looking for a healthy snack, nuts might be the answer.
A new study from European researchers in the journal BMC Medicine says eating a handful of nuts a day can cut down on several health risks.
Data from more than 800,000 people who ate all kinds of nuts, including hazelnuts, walnuts and peanuts, shows they cut their risk of dying from heart disease by nearly 30 percent and cancer by 15 percent.
The risk of premature death was also 22 percent lower for people who ate nuts.
Its quite a substantial effect for such a small amount of food, study co-author Dagfinn Aune said.
Even though some nuts are high in fat they also have lots of fiber and protein, and may reduce a persons risk of obesity over time.
For later
Yes.
DIY is as easy as it could be: for the most part, homemade nut butter is just a matter of putting the nuts in the food processor and buzzing away until it's the consistency you like. In come cases, if the nut is too dry for your food processor to grind easily, you add little dabs of vegetable oil while grinding. And salt if you like (I like).
Food processor. I knew there was a catch. ;)
peanuts are legumes, not nuts.
You can get small “baby food” processors (used to puree adult food into baby food) for $15 or less; they probably have previously-owned ones real cheap over at eBay. You don’t need a big one if you’re only making a delectable snack of nut butter for yourself. :o)
I don’t worry much about the price, it’s the cleanup it involves. I bet no one has invented a self-cleaning food processor yet!
Still, gonna try. I munch a lot and I’m getting so tired of the usual spreads.
Hey, you can lick it clean. Be careful with those blades, though!
:P
.
Legume has obviously become an extremely broad classification.
Nut always has been.

0bama must be really healthy.
