It celebrates the birth of a great man. End of conversation.
If you called me up to express butthurt over “Merry Christmas” I’d hang up on you too.
Merry Christmas.
I have several Jewish friends who laugh at your attitude.
When someone says “Merry Christmas” to them, they appreciate the sentiment, namely a common form of wishing someone well this time of year. In fact, most of them say “Merry Christmas” back in respect of the other persons’ beliefs.
Us Christians do prefer to hear “Merry Christmas,” but if someone says “Happy Holidays” to me, I simply look at their intent and don’t get hung up on the exact words. Would be childish of me to do so unless they were trying to denigrate my faith,
Now, when it is corporate policy to avoid the term Christmas regarding a Christian holiday, that does annoy me. But that’s largely because I am just sick of PC BS. Just like when I get annoyed that many companies will not recognize Passover, but will recognize Ramadan.
Did you at least wish HIM a merry christmas?
Or is it only YOUR feelings that matter?
I operate under: “take no offense where none is intended”
The alternative? Living life (especially during the “holiday” season) with a chip on your shoulder.
Here is some unsolicited advice: lose the chip on you shoulder. And then when someone says to you “Merry Christmas”, you - in turn - smile, and say the words: “thank you”. And if you like, you could add your own greeting - ‘Happy Hanukkah’ - or whatever you’d like.
Trust me on this one - you’ll be much happier - and more pleasant to be around.
There is NO violation... only those that reject Christ expect their 'beliefs' have precedence. But hey they are 'entitled' to their beliefs, until HE they reject, returns.
It’s Festivas, for the rest of us!
Please don’t confuse people. It may be your belief based on historical controversies that Christ was not born in December of our current calendar. Academically speaking it is controversial and there is evidence to be found on both sides of the argument. However Christians are celebrating Christ’s birth not his conception, regardless of when you believe that took place.
yep even got a private message off the OP, and replied the very same as I have on here in public.
We have all been wished a holiday we do not celebrate, but we say thank you , and same to you. We don;t go moaning about it all the time to others as if we don’t have bigger problems in our lives.
If I am in Israel I will know people say Hanukkah. If I am in the middle east then I know most say Ramadan or EID.
Actually just put down EID, and had to look as I thought I had said IED EEK.
People being offended by Christmas should leave the country at Christmas time, and it only strengthens me to say Merry Christmas more.
“If someone says Allahu Akbar to me, I try to get out of the blast radius as quickly as possible.”
WORD!
LOL.
Thank you. I was going to post this article.
Au contraire, Luke the physician tells us when the conception was... God is NOT the author of 'confusion'... Babylon means 'confusion'.
Lol.
“celebrate ied”!
Well.. a holiday with some “bang” to it?
Merry Christmas
I was flunked on my Waldorf Salad last week in culinary school even though my chef-professor ate it heartily. Stuff happens.
No, it is not a U.S. holiday. It is a religious holiday. Perhaps it is your holiday, if not mine. For that, I wish you a wonderful holiday.
E, my friend; you're losing it. Your hostility and anger are pushing you into realms of ridiculous sputterings. Log off, go take a lunch break and forget this thread ever existed.
And have a happy Hanukkah.
???? Not a U.S. Federal Holiday ? When did it become not a holiday ?
“I just wanted him to be aware of my opinion”
You’re an idiot for thinking someone is required to engage you in the conversation of your choice. Call screeners are looking for people to go on the air, not give the on-air personality your opinion. You don’t run that show.
Talk about snowflakes thinking they are the most important person on the planet and everyone had better give them attention else.
