Not necessarily at the top of the list, but also not at the bottom is the lack of attention of the folks inside the warehouse. Look at those photos of the place before the incident. Did this people have no common sense from which to evaluate the risk?

How could anyone walk, much less dance, in that junk heap? And people were actually living there as well. Lousy job, Oakland city inspectors. A great deal of this disaster is your fault.

They complained about a host of things but it was the usual government runaround probably involving bribes.

The stolen juice is the bigger puzzle to me. Somebody else’s electric bill got run up. That somebody else did not complain. Maybe a government facility, and someone was hiding it?

Hipsters. The victims were hipsters. Not hippies. There is a big difference.
Hipsters are clean, have good jobs. Hippies smell, are mostly addicts and are unemployable.
This tragedy may have exposed the inner workings of Sanctuary Cities and what they do with the many residents that can’t afford actual homes and bills. I wouldn’t be surprised if warehouse districts in each city are used for this purpose and people are bribed to kill investigations and turn a blind eye.
Certain parts of this country have become unrecognizable 3rd world hell-holes. The big problem is that instead of improving blighted areas the progressives are trying to bring us all down to the level of our worst element...unless you’re part of the 1%.

Those that died had paid for admission to what was supposed to be a “cool” party.
The city had to be aware that a paid event was scheduled, since fliers had been posted around town.
They made no effort to control it.
