Appreciate both your replies and I fully understand your latter post. In fact, we are in agreement but I feel that this fire as a result of the party has exposed something else.

This was supposedly an artsy-fartsy milieu, but maybe other things like this, slum communes, could be happening with the sanctuaried people. We wouldn’t know unless we investigated. The cities might not care as long as they get the subsidies that follow those people.

Their families are entitled to learn why Oakland officials, well aware that this unsafe building was being used as a domicile and a site for large parties, was never vacated and sealed. Oakland officials did not enforce the law and people died. Begs the question who was making money and who was receiving “political donations”.

Which code officials live in homes and drive vehicles that appear beyond their means on a municipal wage? Which of them have unexplained bank deposits or spend cash more frequently than a typical resident?
