At one time I owned 3 10mm autos. Two stainless Delta Elites and an Auto Ordinance. Both Colts were about as good as it gets.
The Auto Ordinance was also OK. I also owned several 1911’s in .45 atuo. All of them Colts except for one Auto Ordinance.
The AO .45 was not as well made as their 10mm. They probably figured it needed to be made better. Their .45 auto was fairly good and also accurate. The one problem was there was a pit inside the barrel. I suspect it was a bubble in the casting or forging or whatever it was.
They sent me a new barrel and let me keep the old one. The new barrel was perfect but never as accurate as the one with the pit.
A 45 ACP was the second handgun I ever bought and I still have it. It is a Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match. I picked up components that had to be fitted and had a gunsmith replace the original parts (which I still have). It is amazingly accurate.
