When it comes to warring monkeys, females wield the real power. A study has found that female vervet monkeys manipulate males into fighting battles by lavishing attention on brave soldiers while giving other males the cold shoulder. After scraps with rival gangs, usually over food, females would groom males that had fought hardest, while snapping at those that abstained.

I think this was mentioned by her. I think she said Trayvon was going to administer a “whoop ass” to Zimmerman. She was trying to say that Trayvon didn’t mean to hurt Zimmerman, it was a “whoop ass”, which apparently is something in ghetto culture where someone shows dominance over someone else; shows them who is boss.

I thought "gender" was a social construction. Who is imposing a gender binary on this oppressed species??? Who is imposing hetero-normative assumptions??? Is somebody putting pink and blue booties on these monkeys???

This isn’t manipulation! It is darwin at its best. If a monkey isn’t a good fighter, or unwilling to do so, why would a female want that offspring? Fighting protects their food source and also their territory. Pacifist monkeys add no value so no girls for them!
